The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

There’s nothing to interpret. The second that the tranny interfered with the officers lethal force was justified. Gun or no gun, it doesn’t matter. Ze’d be alive if it had just been peacefully protesting.

And FABtard wouldn’t be irrationally going apeshiit. It’s all really pretty simple.

very good posts, @jitter77

@Djfan - i agree that he was not legally carrying, but at the point he was scuffling and shot, it was not known that he did not have his ID. Warrior pointed that out, and its not something I've ever disagreed with. It does lead to wild speculation as to why he did not have his id, as he seemed to have everything else for a ... peaceful protest.

Do you believe it's legal (or wise) to instigate a confrontation with law enforcement engaged in legal operations while armed with a loaded concealed weapon? And then physically resist arrest without informing them you are armed?
He was video-recording with his phone. He turned away and was pepper sprayed.
Let's say police are about to bust a drug den. Let's say I don't believe that drug dealing should be illegal, and I think it's a violation of rights for them to bust the drug den. Is it ok for me to interfere in their operations, resist arrest, wrestle with numerous officers and not inform them that I'm carrying a concealed loaded weapon?
Pretty wasn’t operating a drug den. He don’t wrestle anyone.
If you're a police officer wrestling on the ground with such an individual and someone yells "Gun!" when are you allowed to defend yourself? When someone points it in your face and pulls the trigger?
He didn’t touch his gun. The officer who shot him watched him get disarmed.
Every time something like this happens armchair cops like yourself pretend you would have waited around to see what someone was gonna do with the gun before acting to defend yourself. It's ludicrous.
Ludicrous is Kristi Noem’s account of what happened.
These things happen in split seconds. If you guess wrong you're dead. When someone is acting stupid and breaking the law, violently resisting and armed, you do not have to put yourself at risk of death to save them.
The ICE agent was acting stupid. Pretti didn’t violently resist.

you're neglecting to include the fact that he did not have any ID on him.
As such, he did not want to be identified in case he chose to use this weapon.

what is a valid reason for a person to carry a weapon into a potential confrontational situation and make the conscious decision to break the state law by not having required identification on their body?
What state law?

What state law?
not that you'll bother clicking on a link...

624.714 CARRYING OF WEAPONS WITHOUT PERMIT; PENALTIES.

Subdivision 1.

[Repealed, 2003 c 28 art 2 s 35; 2005 c 83 s 1]

Subd. 1a.

A person, other than a peace officer, as defined in section 626.84, subdivision 1, who carries, holds, or possesses a pistol in a motor vehicle, snowmobile, or boat, or on or about the person's clothes or the person, or otherwise in possession or control in a public place, as defined in section 624.7181, subdivision 1, paragraph (c), without first having obtained a permit to carry the pistol is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. A person who is convicted a second or subsequent time is guilty of a felony.
§

Subd. 1b.

(a) The holder of a permit to carry must have the permit card and a driver's license, state identification card, or other government-issued photo identification in immediate possession at all times when carrying a pistol and must display the permit card and identification document upon lawful demand by a peace officer, as defined in section 626.84, subdivision 1. A violation of this paragraph is a petty misdemeanor. The fine for a first offense must not exceed $25. Notwithstanding section 609.531, a firearm carried in violation of this paragraph is not subject to forfeiture.

(b) A citation issued for violating paragraph (a) must be dismissed if the person demonstrates, in court or in the office of the arresting officer, that the person was authorized to carry the pistol at the time of the alleged violation.

(c) Upon the request of a peace officer, a permit holder must write a sample signature in the officer's presence to aid in verifying the person's identity.

(d) Upon the request of a peace officer, a permit holder shall disclose to the officer whether or not the permit holder is currently carrying a firearm.

yes, a "petty misdemeanor" is still breaking the law.

and as has been said repeatedly, he shouldnt have been shot for not having his id.

Well, I have no idea how this will all come out in the wash, but I do know this; if the federal agent(s) that shot Pretti are found guilty, through a thorough and complete investigation, everyone here will accept the conclusion.

However, if such an investigation proves the agents acted within their legal right with no charges made, at least one member here will be moving on to the next tantrum.
