In letter to Trump, Mexican president-elect vows improvements to deter migration

President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Sunday released a seven-page letter he sent to U.S. President Donald Trump detailing how he plans to improve Mexico's economy and security when he takes office in December so that Mexicans do not feel the need to migrate.

"There will be many changes," he promised in the letter. "And in this new atmosphere of progress with well-being, I'm sure we can reach agreements to confront together the migration phenomenon as well as the problem of border insecurity."

Lopez Obrador also suggested the two countries draft a development plan backed by public funds and invite Central American countries to join, with the aim of making it "economically unnecessary" for Central Americans to migrate.

Estimated 5,000 to 7,000 service members to march in Trump's military parade

Between 5,000 to 7,000 service members could march in President Donald Trump's military parade, according to a U.S. defense official familiar with parade planning documents.

Dozens of DoD personnel are currently supporting the planning of the parade and it is estimated that nearly 3,000 employees will work behind the scenes during the week it's scheduled to take place, the official said of the current plans.

Just an FYI, the military doesn't wear shiny black boots anymore. Haven't for years. The two exceptions are when the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions put on their dress uniforms, they wear shiny jump boots, providing they are airborne (82nd) or air assault (101st) qualified.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of this from the start. Aside from it being a waste of money, this is what dictators do when they want attention. It's dumb. The military has better ways to spend their time.

If you are that embarrassed about his legacy that you want to forget all about it, that in itself speaks volumes about how awful he was for the country.

That exact mentality is literally what I deal with from middle school kids every day. A kid gets suspended 10 times in one year for cussing, stealing, lying, disrespect, etc. Then they are sent to the office for the 11th time because they have broken another rule. They didn't do it of course, they'll tell you so. When you remind them that they have been suspended 10 times this year which makes it a little tough to believe them, they start yelling, "THAT'S IN THE PAST, I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT!!!!! DON'T BRING THAT UP!!!!!!"

Tibs thinks that bowing, apologizing, having unsecured borders, giving away tax payer's money to undeserving countries and letting America get screwed in every way possible is good foreign policy and that looking out for America's best interest and having secure borders is bad foreign policy.
