The Official ***** & Moan After a Win Thread-Green Bay Edition

The ups and downs of last night has finally wore off. Boz is the man of the hour and really thumbs up to Ben and Brown in the last 45 seconds. I thought we would blow the Packers away after watching the Ravens have no troubles. The defense was up and down all night but V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! was the end result.

Boz is a money kicker. 53 yards on a cold night with the game on the line? Impressive. I wonder what his range is. I think the kick would have been good from 56-57 yards.

It looked to me that the ball would have been good from 55. It came down at a high angle and the ball boy caught it just beyond the EZ line. Still that is the Steeler record for a FG in that stadium. Sushi didn't have the leg to hit anything over 50. It's nice to now have a kicker that can!

For the game, the secondary is the weak link now. Sensabaugh and Burns are both getting caught looking in the backfield. This is corrected by having their attention on the receivers instead. If that can be done, the D will improve tremendously. It also doesn't help to have a 75% gimpy Mitchell not make tackles in the secondary. The TD against Sensabaugh was classic Mitchell this season. He had deep help, had positioning to make a TD saving tackle, and whiffed badly. I honestly don't want him on the field anymore. He is not helping us at all.

Now even though the game was close, I am going to enjoy wins. Sure the game was close, guess what, there are no asterisks in the win column for close games against teams with bad records. Just wins, and this team is finding a way to win through adversity. So you 'almost lost' people can gnash your teeth all you want, the Steelers found a way to win a tough game, and that's how you win in the playoffs.

Funny how teams change throughout the season. This is the team we all thought we would see. great offense and struggling secondary. earlier in the season it was opposite.

other than Brown, our receiver's sucked last night. JuJu is so much better than everything else we have.

25-28 on FGs and 21-23 on XPs.

Not bad for a guy missing to many.............................yaz dig. 90% on FG and 92% on EP, not to shabby

Salute the nation

Better stats than I thought for Boz. I guess him missing a few easy kicks makes it feel worse. He shouldn't miss any extra points, even with the longer distance and he's missed a couple others he should have made.

I agree Mitchell looks like a real liability out there. Everything seemed to be much smoother without him on the field, including communication and players knowing their assignments.

I'd add safety to the list for the top of the draft next year, someone good to pair with Davis for the next few years.

Worst 9-2 team ever.
And too much positivity in this thread. Lets honor the spirit of the thread, LOL.

I was not a sushi fan at all, but for some reason Tomin kept sending him out for long field goal tires. Go figure.

Here is the truth of what I see in this team. Unless they generate turnovers they will not dominate anyone. They dont tackle well enough, the offensive play calling is terrible and they take too many costly penalties. They could lose to anyone. That said they fight hard and dont panic and if they play well they could probably beat anyobe. If they turn the ball over like last night they will get blasted by playoff teams. No doubt.

Get well soon, please, Joe Haden!
Are we gonna have to blow yet another first round pick on an outside linebacker, when we should be using it on the o-line?
Were we better without Mitchell? Lots of flailing attempts out there by him.
Eli and Bryant made some big catches. More, please.
When facing a **** QB, (see Bears game) I always think we should stuff the run and make the **** QB beat us. We just made the **** QB look like Joe Montana. I know it's nothing new.
Brown is amazing. Bell is amazing. But we'll be completely ****** when Ben hangs it up.
Can't believe Heyward has 9 sacks. Is that a team record for a lineman in the 3-4?
Haley seems to have no understanding of when to use play action. Or calling any other plays. Just let Ben, Brown and Bell bail you out, dumbass.
This team needs a coaching staff.

Yes, we absolutely ARE better without Mitchell. Wilcox should be starting.

Players I would rather have on the field over Mitchell:

1. Wilcox
2. Dangerfield
3. Hagen
4. Golden
5. a golden retriever
6. Anthony Davis
7. Carrot Top
8. An actual carrot
9. a potted plant
10. Donnie Shell at his current age and speed.

For the life of me, I don't know why the Steelers didn't try to move Polamalu into a FS role. I think he would have been good at it and it would have extended his career.

Penalty on Burns prevented us from getting off the field after a 3rd down sack and then we got Burnt.

The lack of PI/holding calls on GB was pretty disgusting. I think at one point, maybe in the 3rd quarter there hadn't been a single penalty called on them all game.

The drops killed us on offense last night. If we can hang onto those balls this game was a blowout.

The defense has to fix the secondary issue. We can't get beat deep. Give 15 yard cushions, let us ***** about that instead of giving up HR TDs.

Ben absolutely returned to form this week. The pick I blame on Rogers for getting beat to the ball and the tipped ball is what it is.

Bell is a freak, we saw last night his ability to make a defender miss in space. Great to see him make big plays.

I would not offer Dupree a second contract. He continues to get pushed too far wide leaving gaping holes for the QB to get through. Low football IQ is glaring at all of us. He's better than Jarvis for sure, he just can not make up for his lack of football IQ with his athletic ability.

We need a better TE option who won't drop balls.

Good job blocking by Bryant, finally.

Tipped ball is what it is but I will say this. Im almost certain no qb has as many passes batted tyen Ben. It statistically more than one per game to my eye.

Brown deserves kudos. His skill at catching the ball along the sidelines is incredible - better than any other WR I have ever seen. The catch against the Falcons back in 2010 at about the 1 foot line with 30 seconds left in the first half (Steelers had to challenge since the refs could not believe he got his feet inbounds - he did), and that catch last night along the sidelines with the game in the balance. Just incredible.

I thought yinz mike McCarthy did a great WPA job of having the pack ready to play and had a great game plan on offense. That said again our coaches didn’t do 5he same job. Butler just simply over coaches the defense with all his stupid no down lineman formations. we have tons of talent just line up and attack. But no, super genius is on the side line calling stupid formation after stupid formation. Year after year the defense gives up stupid big plays where the secondary is out of position and it’s the coaches fault! the offense was better but you can’t help but wonder what a real offense coach like McCarthy could do with the talent we have on this offense. We had so much more talent than the pack it wasn’t funny but it went down to the last seconds. Tomlin and company just ain’t getting done I really hate saying it this late in the year but the proof is on the tape.

Defense:
We needs to learn to tackle. Period. LEARN TO TACKLE. This is mainly directed at Burns, Mitchell, and Shazier.
We need get more pressure on the QB. We've improved over prior years, but still need improvement.
Wilcox needs to start over Mitchell. Won't happen until someone recovers those compromising sex pics of Tomlin and the barn animal. Seriously though, what do they see in Mitchell?
We need Joe Hayden back ASAP and we need to get Cam Sutton game ready.

Offense:
Stop dropping the ******* ball. Catch the damn ball.

A win is a win, but this was ugly.

While they should have won by double digits, the Steelers overcame:
- net loss of 3 turnovers
- 3 long TDs against
- multiple dropped balls by WRs
- bad penalties (Burns)

As was said earlier, with the exception of the turnovers and drops, this was the team most expected to see this year.

Less drops, less turnovers and this would have been over early

I thought the play calling was quite creative on that first drive. Then slowly they seep back into predictability. Ben would have had 500 if not for drops.

Hundley had a good day. Who?

Just think what Brady will do.
