The Official ***** & Moan After a Win Thread-Green Bay Edition

The Official ***** & Moan After a Win Thread-Green Bay Edition

Two schools of thought here. One, they played down to level of competition to an inferior team. Two, they beat the team they were suppose to beat. Pick your poison.

Now am I happy that they needed a last second FG goal to win against a team quarterbacked by some guy named Hundley? Hell no! It’s very concerning to me that they should have put this team away early and won with ease and they didn’t.
The offense seems to be clicking and Ben still has his magic but I see two glaring flaws. Missing Gilbert and the lack of a real quality TE is not helping this football team.
The defense is getting no help from Bud Dupree and it’s a glaring weakness. Joe Hayden is sorely missed and Artie Burns is worrying me.
Tackling continues to be a problem.

if you bet the Steelers to cover 14 points, have at it. Be mad at yourself for listening to Vegas. lol

Saying that, there were bright spots(Ben, AB, Bell and Boz) and low points. Too many low points, but they did overcome bad calls(non-calls), breakdowns in coverage and turnovers. Keep putting up W's and get ready for the Bungal Hit Parade. Will be another tough one, so be prepared for another late night, nail biter.

After listening to Tunch and Wolf for years they would also contend that for teams like Green Bay playing the Steelers is like their super bowl and play UP to the competition. It's probably both.

I have to go back and watch this thing again but I am starting to think that the problems are not so much tackling but them being out of position ( lanes ? ) Tackling is a concern but a lot of what I thought I saw last night looked like they were trying to anticipate way too much and it cost them dearly. Burns does indeed need to clean up his act, too many double move boo boo's and misread assignments. Coty is showing why he isn't a starter, that's a given...maybe we can get Sutton some work ?

Green Bay gave Haley a clinic on run blocking, but we were asleep in the back row of the classroom. Bell gets easily 50% of his yards by hisdamnself.

This being a ***** thread, I won't praise AB for some outstanding catches while I wonder what happened to the guy who used to wear #17.

Ugly as it was...I'll take it anyday over a loss

I see us with a hard fought win even if a statistically speaking lower team. On any given Sunday has truth to it. LotsA positives and I prefer to look at those. 9-2 is a good spot to be in as it shows we are winning the games we are suppose to win.

Salute the nation

I think Burns is too stupid to follow the coverage schemes. Great athlete which helps make up for some of the faults, but not enough for the NFL. The Steelers need to upgrade Mitchell in the draft.

Hundley and the Packers really showed up to play. Was shocked to see a <strike>rookie </strike> young QB have that type of success against us, especially one who's been struggling. Credit to them for throwing caution to the wind and taking it to the Steelers on the road.

Really disappointed in our D, especially the back end. Seems we're schizophrenic going back and forth between being one of the best D's in the league to downright awful.

Now that's out of the way, 9-2 baby! Boswell for the win! Good teams win games like that. Nice to see us come out of this with a W. On to the Bengirls and MNF!

No way the game should have been that close against a lousy team. Once again, the Steelers play down to the competition.

My ***** & moan is it was so exhausting and exhilarating, that I totally forgot to start this thread .....Thanks Steelerfan......... I was so happy this week that I totally forgot my tradition I started....

Get well soon, please, Joe Haden!
Are we gonna have to blow yet another first round pick on an outside linebacker, when we should be using it on the o-line?
Were we better without Mitchell? Lots of flailing attempts out there by him.
Eli and Bryant made some big catches. More, please.
When facing a **** QB, (see Bears game) I always think we should stuff the run and make the **** QB beat us. We just made the **** QB look like Joe Montana. I know it's nothing new.
Brown is amazing. Bell is amazing. But we'll be completely ****** when Ben hangs it up.
Can't believe Heyward has 9 sacks. Is that a team record for a lineman in the 3-4?
Haley seems to have no understanding of when to use play action. Or calling any other plays. Just let Ben, Brown and Bell bail you out, dumbass.
This team needs a coaching staff.

Definitely having a sophomore slump. Corner should be a consideration on draft day once again.

The kick by Boz was awesome but he is missing extra points and other easy kicks way too often. My guess is he has competition in camp this coming year and isn't a lock to make the team.

I fear that as long as the team wins, they will be intact. "Don't upset the apple cart" seems like mindset of this coaching staff. I would look at the D coaching staff hard after the season and if Ben leaves, maybe Haley will follow.

Burns is definitely making too many mistakes. The bad part, as I have said before, is he doesn't appear to be learning from those mistakes. He has been burned in at least 5 games in a row now. We can't keep giving up 50+ yard plays as often as we are. Brady and Cooks will smoke our secondary deep.

Actually, I'm proud of the team. Being able to overcome 3 turnovers without getting one and still winning is impressive. Ben is now at the top of his game, and his include using his legs if needed.

The offensive is humming, and the play calling was decent last night. Once we get Haden back, the secondary will be much better

25-28 on FGs and 21-23 on XPs.

he tied the record for longest FG there, you can't expect perfection but you suree as hell should expect clutch and Boz has a ton of it. Money guy

agree with Coach, the three turnovers were bad luck, not dumbfuck mistakes. Few teams can overcome such critical situation and the Steelers just showed they belong with them.

Regarding the DBs: Now someone please tell Burns to wake the **** up and remember his assignments, Mitchell is just a shadow of his former self now, we need a S urgently. I won't throw Sensabaugh under the bus, he is what he is and shouldn't be put in a situation to lose, he should have had safety help if they weren't playing deep and giving up the short throw. Sean Davis running like a headless chicken when Jamal Williams cut after the screen for the long TD, I guess he had to stop the outside run but then Hilton and the rest got fooled to the outside too? Have to watch it again

Dupree is JAG right now and that sucks monkey balls, his ceiling might be Clark Haggans kind of production.

WTF are you watchin ?

He's 25 of 28 FG's and 21 of 23 XP's YTD.............75 of 85 and 83 of 86 career I'd extend him in a heartbeat, jus sayin'

The ups and downs of last night has finally wore off. Boz is the man of the hour and really thumbs up to Ben and Brown in the last 45 seconds. I thought we would blow the Packers away after watching the Ravens have no troubles. The defense was up and down all night but V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! was the end result.

IIRC, there was a Packer coming off the edge that had a clear shot at the Xtra point kick that may have made Boz push the kick left. He shanked it, it happens. He more than redeems himself when needed. He has won a ton of games more than he has lost.
