The most ridiculous part of last night

You convert that 4th down and go on to score and it's a 5 point game and suddenly the Browns sphincter is tighter than Mike Brown's grip on his wallet.
Not saying you’re wrong. I was calling for that last night. But our defense had stopped them twice, and I’m sure HCMT thought the risk of not getting it and giving the short field was the greater evil to thinking we can get a third three and out in a row. The PROBLEM is.....who among us has any real confidence in this team to get 2 yards?!?!? I mean, do we have a great play caller? A great RB? What are the real statistics on us being able to get that 4&2?

I hear what you are saying 6L
but I have to totally agree with Wig on this one......it does not matter about our confidence to make 2 yards or whether we have a play caller or RB ........ all that mattered is we were moving the ball and closing the gap on the scoreboard in a game that we had gifted with turnovers..... it is a one and done scenario........... playoff game...........play balls out there & pick up the 1st and make it a one score game would have made the Browns **** themselves........ if we didn't get it worse case was we asked the DEF to defend 25 yards less of field position......... we had nothing to lose.....we needed to attempt that 4th down play ....it signalled surrender to me when they did not..... hell I would have handed it to Claypool and told the kid to elevate over the pile ....do or die baby.....instead we try and draw them offside with the punting crew........just roll over and expose your genitals in submission mode

But, but, but that happens to every team every game, or so I've been told

And that’s why you don’t go nickel on them when they have a huge lead. Not sure what the answer should have been, but our LBs were getting blocked and pushed around let alone safeties or CBs.

You go man and shoot gaps. Take away the run, if they go PA those run stuffs are now pass rushers.

but we might give up a big pass play, can't play aggressively.

The best part of this gem is that it doesn't even look like he is playing zone. It looks like man with help over top. Cover one or two man. So how the hell is he supposed to cover Jarvis Landry in man. Like Cmon.

The same way he thought Timmons could cover NE's WR's and Bostic cover Keenan Allen.

I'm off twitter.

It's the devil's tool.

that’s the problem I have with it. A zone is one thing. Sure you will have a LB sometimes covering a WR in a short zone but not in ******* man. That’s what keeps happening. It’s either man coverage or it is a zone and the zone they assign the LB is way too big and out of his skill.

I remember Watt running 40 yards downfield vs Tyreek Hill multiple times. Flat out ridiculous. But I guess to Tomlin, the player just has to execute better. Yeah, Spillane, do a better job of covering Jarvis Landry in the slot with no help. See on paper, it was totally covered.

I really don't think Bush could handle that assignment, but he is sub 4.5 speed and a freak athlete. Asking Spillane to do that is just like C'mon. What a ****** idiot.

And to make matters worse, Spliiane walks out pre snap to make it an obvious pre snap read that he has him in man and there’s nobody over the middle. Mayfield must have had to try not to giggle when he saw it pre snap.

I get it a team can scheme and with movement to get a WR on a LB to get that mismatch. We get JuJu or AB back in the day on LB’s. But it does happen vs us way more than us on them. Part of me thinks we need to go 4-3 or 4-2-5 with three bigs plus TJ Watt and then have Bush plus two sub 4.5 LB’s. Might sacrifice size but we’d gain with speed.
