Wasn't the airmailed snap, the early Ben gaffes, even the seriously stupid rotation of players with the ****** season on the line. not even, even the decisions on 4th down. It was staying in the Goddamn cover two sit back zones when they were way down. Covering Jarvis Landry with a ****** linebacker. Why the **** do you think he is in the slot Mike. Cause that is where he gets the best coverage. You have an all pro safety you have neutered into a player you could replace for 4 million a year. Bring them down, Cover one, cover zero. Destroy the run on the way to the QB. Or at minimum threaten it every play. His answer would be we were getting stops. Yes because they hid the ball as you say. So you put them to third and long a few times and got off the field. BUT the pass to Landry in that defense was there for the taking ANY time. And that's what you get when you have a checkers player calling the shots.

just mentioned this in another post. The same thing in 2018 vs Keenan Allen, and it's been the same thing for a decade vs NE, whether is was welker, Edleman, or Hogan

There was a moment, when the game could still be won despite all the mistakes and ****-ups and the coaching staff lived in their fears larger than life. They HAD to nut up and go for it on 4th and 2 or whatever it was. That was the ballgame. Soon as they pussed out the Browns took a sigh of relief and said, "Ok, let's put this ****** away."

You convert that 4th down and go on to score and it's a 5 point game and suddenly the Browns sphincter is tighter than Mike Brown's grip on his wallet.

Tomlin doesn't have the mentality of take away what they do best and force them to do what they don't want to do. He believes in being true to what they are, which is why they lose to teams with semi equal talent in clutch games. He has one defensive game plan. Be the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I dont watch as much NFL as I used to, but yes LB's covering WR is something that I only see the Steelers doing. What's ridiculous is we we should have the DL and CB pieces to not make it needed...

For most rediculous I'll still go with 4 straight late season colapses, with 11-0 to losing 4 of 5 and getting humiliated by the Browns practice squad to take the cake

Cleveland's offense revolves around Chubb and Hunt, they combined for 210 yards and 3 TD's, 7 yards per touch. While missing multiple linemen

his belief is stop the big play at all costs. Which is when your offense scores like 24 -30 points easily. If you looked at what the Ravens did against the Titans. That is what the Steelrs needed to do yesterday, but that is not in Mike's DNA. Playing Fitzpatrick the way they do is criminally stupid. You would have been better playing him down where Edmunds was and put anyone who could cover deep ok back there. You might as well say TJ Watt is a coverage linebacker.

I see it happen in every game for every team. It is dictated by the Offense calling the right play for the defense called. It happens and is inevitable in cases. I am sure it is not what Butler wanted but sometimes they get the right call against your package.

Take it from an old Center, it is far easier for an inexperienced lineman to run block than pass block and there is more room for error. Pass blocking has no room for error at all. We were weak in the middle and there wasnt much we could do about it. The Browns called it correctly and we were handcuffed by missing pieces.

I totally disagree here. You had to challenge them with in your face coverage, your best on theirs. And allow the force unit to pressure the QB through the run game . It was the only play. That wasn't what they did. Basically Landry was there any time. Spillane or any of their inside linebackers could not cove him in any way. no chance. That was picking an apple off a tree.

Handcuffed by missing pieces? We had Tuitt, Heyward, and Williams, our best run stuffer, they were missing the pieces.

It happens, yes, but over and over again, no it doesn't. I talked to a Bills fan before that game and told him wait until you get Diggs or Beasley matched up on our ILBs. He said I can't see that happening, no team they've played up to that point has tried that.

Amateur journalism is fun but for brevity's sake, let's boil this down to usable terms. HCMT does not understand American football. And he is not a bright man. He demonstrates this daily. Sometimes his team wins on talent alone. Even goes on streaks. But in the end his dim wit rules the day.

But don't blame HCMT. After 14 years of squandered opportunities and wasted talent, it is evident that its on the Rooneys.

Not fair, accurate or useful if you were in a real decision making position.

And that’s why you don’t go nickel on them when they have a huge lead. Not sure what the answer should have been, but our LBs were getting blocked and pushed around let alone safeties or CBs.

This 100%. Once we were down, it put the clowns in the position to dictate whatever they wanted to run- which was RUN. They epitomized what we wished we could do with a serious run threat and the lead.

Not saying you’re wrong. I was calling for that last night. But our defense had stopped them twice, and I’m sure HCMT thought the risk of not getting it and giving the short field was the greater evil to thinking we can get a third three and out in a row. The PROBLEM is.....who among us has any real confidence in this team to get 2 yards?!?!? I mean, do we have a great play caller? A great RB? What are the real statistics on us being able to get that 4&2?

How many teams would have TJ Watt in coverage as much as they do?

How many teams wouldn't not turn TJ loose on every play for the QB or RB?

How many teams would not move TJ around and allow double and triple teams?

The answer: ONE

We were 3 for 3 on 4th downs last night

I thought they should've moved him to ROLB, Cleveland was obviously running that way all game.
