The good the bad and the ugly -bungles edition:

We’re fortunate dalton didn’t start that game..
But that ain’t the Steelers problem.

There was a time where this would be true but Dalton is sitting for a reason and our D is a hell of a lot better than even 6 games ago.

Salute the nation

Isn't everyone hardwired into their opinion? The board was full of "Bush should be the rookie DPOY" now not so much. Again take away the fumbles that were gifts by the other team and he's play ok. Is he making splash plays around the LOS? Is he slashing through the LOS and making great tackles? No. He's a rookie ILB right now. The Steelers have even cut back on his snaps the past few weeks.

Also just because the pluses outshine the minuses doesn't mean that he isn't what I thought. I've said repeatedly that he'll be a decent ILB. He's a small version of Timmons.

Is his role to slash through the line to make TFLs? Doesn't seem to be how he is being utilized...he is making plays sideline to sideline

He leads all rookies in tackles, interceptions and fumbles recovered and leads all non-secondary players in passes defended. with 6..pretty sure any reasonable person has him in the ROY discussion

I was talking about people on the board. It was a big discussion a month or so ago. Everyone knows now that it's going to Bosa. Also he's probably played more than most rookies. Williams got hurt and he had to play right away. Leading in tackles can be misleading because you don't expect a rookie DL, CB, OLB, or DB to lead in tackles. How many rookie ILBs are actually playing?

Also where did you get your stats from? Kendricks from Minnesota has 12 PD. And there are several more LBs on the list. He is nowhere near the top, even in LBs with PD.

as with the other stats...it was restricted to rookies (from nfl.com)......and why is bosa a sure thing? Bush has twice as many tackles and ints and three times as many passes defended.

When you said "He leads ALL non-secondary players" ... I thought you meant all non-secondary players.

Also Bosa is not a LB so he isn't going to get as many tackles as an ILB. He has 8 sacks. Which is 7 more than Bush. He has 14 TKL while Bush only has 6. Some how that got left off your list. BTW the 3-4 is designed to funnel everything to the ILB. Which is why Timmons lead the team every single year in tackles.

Of course I listed the stats that make a case for Bush. Bosa plays DE and his job is sacks and TFLs....Bush's job is tackles and in the Steelers D...covering receivers down field at times. Hard to compare two guys who don't play the same position but stats wise the two are pretty equally matched for what they are asked to do for their teams.

I know it's difficult especially since you don't have many ILBs to compare him too. Again I'm not saying he's a bust or a bad player.

I would have to see stats on what percentage of the time teams are stacking the box. I want to lean on that possiblity over the line run block regressing. But it could very well be some of both...

Until the passing game is a threat, the box will stay loaded. I do believe they pulled DeCastro a lot more yesterday, which for some reason seems to be the only way we can ever get significant runs (albeit still pretty short runs). Even some of Snail’s runs were bounced outside tackle.

He is the best the team has. Pouncey is no slouch either. I think one more at RT or G would do wonders for the line. Perhaps that should be the focus of pick two if a BPA is sitting there....

dalton has sucked *** this year...which is why he was on the bench

I can't imagine that Finley is much better. I mean if he is truly better than Dalton, thern Dalton is worse than I thought.

Dalton isn't great, but if he started that game, I think we lose.

why exactly? He is not mobile, he wouldn't have eluded the rush and it i not like they had guys running free all game and just missed passes

Well Finley completed 46% of his passes, and there a few throws that he just plain missed on, I think Dalton sees the field better and just completes a few more passes and keeps the chains moving. Hell if Bush doesn't make that strip, we may lose with Finley at QB.

so the fact that the Steelers beat the dalton led bungles 27-3 earlier in the year clearly shows that if he had played sunday he would have beaten the Steelers

The Browns beat the Lamar Jackson led Ravens, every game is different.

I actually feel sorry for Bengals fans. How ******* bad is your team, that a patchwork Steeler team consisting of a third string QB, a 4th string RB and a Bears Practice squad RB, essentially 8th string Wideouts on the field and missing a Probowl Center...Beats your collective *****. If I was slated to be a #1 draft pick in this upcoming draft I start popping anti-depressants.
And backup DE
