Positions we are in need of are pretty darn deep.

QB- no sure fire studs. IMO only one true first round talent at QB. But a ton of day two guys. I would take Jaxson Dart with our first but other than that get a guy in the 2nd or 3rd. I have mocked drafts where Dart falls to us in the 2nd so l can hope.
RB- one of the deeper drafts in recent history. One stud then a bunch of day two guys who 15 years ago would have been first round picks. Then a ton of situational/role players. I’m certain a few guys deserving of a day two pick falls to day 3.
WR- lots and lots of options and just crazy deep. I have been on the Matthew Golden train long before his 4.29 at the combine. He’s been the top on my board for awhile now. But there’s guys like Nick Nash who will go day 3 and should be a 900-1200 receiver consistently in this league.
OL- we are still in need of a true LT and RT. I would add another tackle like Jordan Travis. Again, been a huge fan early but now that he shined at the combine others are finally taking note. Maybe we can still get him day 2 though.
DL- lots of depth here and I feel this is likely where we go first round unless someone falls. Lots of guys throughout the rounds though. Harmon makes the most sense imo if we go DL in the first. But lots of depth from Darius Alexander to Joshua Farmer to Alfred Collins. I think we can get at least one contributor this year.

We need two starters out of this draft. DL I t5hink we can get as well as a WR2. Kahn and Co. (mainly Tom Lin) hopefully can get minimally that.

QB may put a kink in things, but if they feel the right one is there then they need to pull the trigger. We need to draft a QB every draft, until we find the one !!!

PS Don't get me wrong; Justin Fields could very well turn out to be the one.

If we sign Russted, then IMO, we go Qb early. As early as Dart at 1.21
if we sign Fields, whom we should, QB won't be addressed.

RB is verrrrrry deep. From Jeanty to Giddens to Sampson.... all have their positives. Warren will be our #1 next season barring something wild happening.

WR is also deep, and speedy. Some speedsters might not even get drafted.

I think they still draft a QB if they sign Fields, it'll just be a super late round guy to fill the 3rd QB role super cheap. We better not reach for Dart at 1.21...that would be Kenny Pickett bad

We just spent our last two first round picks on OTs and we still need both?

Why stop at 2 starters...why not 3? Or 4? Heck.....maybe 5 day one starters!!!!!

Like Pickett?

Kind of excited to see if the Steelers give him his shot. Can he handle being the #1 guy? What will happen on third downs? Will they give those reps to someone else? How often will they rotate Warren out. He excelled as the other guy and third down back. Does he get a 1000 yards? Do they extend him after the season if not? Will they run him into stacked boxes continuously? Will his fumble issue be corrected? Will Tomlin go with a more progressive offense this season? And if he balls out....do they pay him like the Eagles just paid Barkley?

Why just settle for 5 day one starters,……… how about 5 future HOF players. Might go down as the best draft all time ever……………. I know of a team who got 4 HOF players in one draft, but I can’t seem to remember who that team was……

That team also got a HOF player who wasn't even drafted.

Yea, but part of that is bc of incompetency of Clown-lin and co. Would another team have their top 15 type talent playing RT and keep letting the 4th-round turd play at LT? I doubt it. Yet they kept trotting Dan Moore out there, they were ranked 29th in most categories. Way to go.

Meh, Dart seems to be climbing... i saw an article yesterday about him being thought of as qb2 in this draft by some now... he probably gets overdrafted now...

Hopefully not by us. I'm fine with drafting him, just not in the first and only maybe in the second.

I don’t spend nearly as much time on these college players as many here have way more knowledge than myself.

Maybe I’m biased from not liking the dad’s persona, but is the Sanders kid that good. Where does he stand in this QB class? Did he come out to early and is he developed enough to over come the Tomlinization noted with this franchise?

Thanks in advance.

He finished 8th in the Heisman, and his senior year was a record year for Colorado. He finished with 4,134 yards, 74%, 35TD and 10INT. He's a pocket passer with very good accuracy. His arm is adequate, but not super strong. He's a little cocky and brash at times, but surprisingly enough, he sticks up for his teammates and other players. Recently he stuck up for Will Howard over some of the media comments against him. He's a polarizing character, that because of his father is going to get extra media coverage.

Maybe he has enough bravado to overcome some of the shortfall associated with coaching here. Sticking up for your teammates goes a long way in my book and possibly some of that dad stuff can be a positive. If he ends up here, I'll be fully on board.

Thanks insaniti for your input, appreciate yaz

I'm not sure why everyone is down on Sanders as a player. Colorado was basically Sanders and Hunter. I think their oline was pretty terrible. I do think he should have participated at the combine, but that might have been a tactful decision. I get the Deion factor is a big reason for avoiding Sanders, but i think he is a good player. If the Steelers manage to draft him, Deion might create enough media fire to get Tomlin on the hit seat and initiate real changes.

I wouldn't mind trading back this year. going into next year with two first and some extra picks would be nice there is this kid coming out of Texas at QB that could be an interesting pick.

Check out Darts run at 1:50. Got some power.

A lot of nice highlights for Dart. He's definitely not shy about throwing into coverage. Many of the TD's had 2 guys trailing the WR by a step or two. I can see the Steelers being interested in him. I still don't know if he is worth our 1st this year. If he is there in the 2nd, I think they take him but he may not even be there at our 1st pick if he has a good pro day to go along with the combine.
