The emergence fo Green.

My wife keeps me around because according to her all i can do well is go deep...go figure, lol

Good reason. If you couldnt..

Has Bell ever taken one to the house in the NFL? I can't seem to remember him ever breaking away for a long TD run.

Yes against Cleveland

The point that started this was why don't the steelers just sit him til completely healthy or IR him. And I said no because they have no one else to stretch he field. So even though he hasn't caught a pass he still helping some what..is it enough? No but it is something the coaches feel is important enough to to trot his his *** out there for those plays. Otherwise they could of just let Hamilton run those routes

yep you are good at deflecting

I pointed out what you said, proved it was ridiculous and you deflect to something different.

You said it didn't matter if he had catches but it does,.........the coaches simply want him to return to being effective again

As he hasn't yet.

Until he is effective again he is useless on the field as the only thing he is a detriment to, is stopping drives.

And what is missed on you is if he was effective worrying D's they would have kept them out there.

Instead of limiting him.

The only reason he is not on the field is due to ineffectiveness. Same ineffective play he has had since the injury.

Spin it however you want, you are wrong.

You can tell Green is a lot more comfortable in the offense, but needs to be more consistent to draw some of that attention away from AB. While he has Miller beat in size and speed, Miller was on the same page. The chemistry between those two was unreal and if Green is able to develop half of that, the Steelers will be in great shape.

All you have proved is you have a different opinion then mine. Especially when coaches have come out and said the reason he hasn't played more is because of injury not anything else.. He can't catch certain passes so if he isn't going deep he can't play. But when he is in he going deep and defenses have to choose how they are going play him. Single or help over the top. The colts left him on on one which is why Ben took those shots deep. Now of course the coaches could of just left Hamilton in to do that. But he doesn't get the separation Coates does. All of these things are on film and you don't know if that influences the coverages the steelers see later in the game or the next week.

Sorry, not creaming my pants over Green. He is far from fluid, appears to fight the ball on every catch, and runs like a baby doe. I'm pretty sure he fell down twice in the game before anyone touched him. He had 11 targets and only caught six, that is NOT good. He only had a big game because Ben kept going to him even after he ****** something up on the previous play, I'd like to see the result of going to Jesse James 11 times in one game, or any other receiver for that matter.

We had the luxury of pressing the ball to Green because our defense played well, but we won't always have the luxury of waiting for him to find himself during a game. He has a lot of work to do on his game.

Green has improved a lot. At first I thought we got burnt on that deal. He showed up injured and we paid him a lot of money. But he looked good on sunday. One good sunday isnt enough though. We need to see that with regularity.

k you keep telling yourself you aren't wrong, say it enough times you probably will even believe it.

We all know what Coates is when he is healthy. When he isn't healthy with a broken finger, from a player who isn't known for great hands to begin with. Common sense says you sit him until he can be effective. Yes he isn't played because of injury. Which has caused him to be ineffective.

Try to comprehend if you can. A ineffective player will kill a drive. Which will take possible points off the board.

You do not put a player in that the end result is this.

They sprinkled him in in hoping he could still catch..But quickly found that wasn't the case.

So your theory that a lame duck player is effective even if he doesn't catch anything. Is preposterous on any angle you want to throw out.

So yes you were wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Deal with it.

Your way of looking at things is concerning, because your stance doesn't change, but gets more ridiculous as you debate.

But by all means keep thinking the world is square, it is entertaining.

They are waiting for him to return to form, so they perhaps are force feeding him a little more to get back to that.

With what he has showed, I think at the very least he is going in the right direction.

So why was a WR with two broken fingers still playing?? That's the magic question.. why would they insist on playing a WR with broken fingers. They could of let Hamilton play more called up Ayers yet they still trotted him out there. Why?? And just coincidentally his playing time didn't didn't dwindle to this point until another player who can impact defenses started playing more (Green). Just a coincidence. We all know he hasn't been effective but there was a reason a WR with two broken fingers was still playing. Wonder what it was

He really wasn't playing much accept on special teams. Not sure if he played at WR at all in this last game but had a couple thrown his way in the previous game. If his fingers are broken (takes 3 to 6 weeks to heal and it's been over 8) and he is one of your best WR's, then you rest him and don't put him on special teams where he is at risk of doing further damage on each and every play. Stupid **** no matter how you look at it.

I'm glad Green is finally playing and playing well but I still don't think we really needed him.

Yes this discussion started a while ago. I'm more talking about before when the injury happened and he was still playing more. There was questions asking why is he still playing and why don't they just sit him. Some even suggested IR him.. and I said cause they still need someone to stretch the field and whether he catches it or not IMO it has a effect. Now that Green has come on someone else who defenses have to beware of they have started to scale back on Coates playing time

In his last two games, Green is averaging a league-leading 22.1 yards per catch, which Roethlisberger says helps draw the safety help off Antonio Brown.

Hopefully, we stay healthy first and foremost. Then, if Green can keep improving and we can get Rogers and Coates to start producing, the offense should be unstoppable. Sprinkle in a little Cobi Hamilton and it will be even better. The weapons are there and have shown flashed but we need more consistency.

And, we need to stop the damn penalties. 12 penalties against the Giants is ridiculous.

If you think Ben intentionally threw to Green after he dropped the previous pass, you missed the play. Green and everyone else was covered. Ben went through his progression of 2 receivers on the left. Green saw the scramble and made a great move by breaking his pattern deep and getting wide open. Ben easily saw him when he eluded pressure. Excellent play by both Green and Ben improvising on a broken play for a big gain.

And as far as Coates is going. he took over all of DHB's ST positions. He's doing very well there and is able to contribute that way. The bigger question is why do we continue to keep DHB on the roster when he has a mid foot sprain. This is Golson all over again...

Why can't Green become the No 2 receiver? It doesnt have to be a WR does it?

I'm glad Green is finally playing and playing well but I still don't think we really needed him.

I think we do, we do need a lot of 2-TE sets given the lack of WR playmakers. It also will help the run as there's more blocking.

No coach, we won games with James. Without Bryant or Green. We need a #2 receiver. Green is a nice luxury.

I think Green is a bit more than a luxury. He's a game changer, and without him, we have zero deep middle threats.

I did notice James has improved as a blocker, he's not close to Green's class as a receiving threat.

My hunch is Ben who said he loves tall receivers liked Green a lot.

Heck, in a few cities the TE IS the #1 receiving option. That position is growing into a dual threat option with 6'6" guys running 4.4 40s. That is a HUGE advantage to have one of those threats, and we have one.

Until Coates gets his confidence back, Green looks like our #2 receiving option.

Until they activate Ayers

d whether he catches it or not IMO it has a effect.

yeah a negative effect on drives... most people I think could grasp that....

Green had no effect on Coates playing time, only person who has a effect on that is Coates.

If he performs they play him more, if he doesn't they play him little until he again produces more.
