With teams doubling on Brown and playing closer to the line to stop Bell, the offense has been stagnant at times.

Coates can't catch well and has damaged fingers. Rogers is too small to play outside and pretty much is a poor man's Brown. James is a short possession type of receiver. Heyward-Bey is Hurt. Wheaton is on IR for the rest of the year.

The outside hash mark and the deep middle of the field are relatively unguarded. We just didn't have had a player to exploited.

Enter 6'6" Ladarius Green as our much-needed 3rd option. A very tall man, with good hands and it seems good chemistry with Ben. He's taken advantage of the defensive deployment to stop AB And Bell... and he's killing it.

I hope Bey comes back soon, the lack of a #2 is forcing us to use Bell as a wr way to much, we are far more dangerous when he us the backfield, he can chip or pick uo a rusher then leak out to become Bens safety valve and is pretty much guaranteed to be covered by a LB there

Would love to see DHB back, D Will would help too though as Bell is our 2nd best WR.

With three good options, a player like Bey could really shine as a X factor deep receiver.

The OL at times forces Ben to use Bell too.

I think Green's emergence gives Coates a little more time to get healthy. If we can get Coates back along with Bell Green and Brown and with the occasional plays we get from Rogers and James we will be hard to contend with.

I think Bell is an extraordinary runner in traffic but he lacks just a bit of strength to break that last tackle. You rarely see him break really big runs. He'll pick through a crowd with ridiculous regularity for 4 to 7 yards and you can't understand how he finds his way through there, but then when he hits the 2nd level it seems like the last guy always gets the ankle tackle.

Green definitely had his best game not just as a Steeler but as a pro yesterday. He adds an element we haven't had since Martavis was out there stretching the field. While he's not the 40 yard down the field threat Bryant is, he's a monster target anywhere on the field and as he works himself into better shape and improves his rapport with Ben, he's a legit threat that will merit attention from defenses. This should help AB get more looks. Now if we can get Coates back on offense and actually catching balls, it makes us that much more dynamic.

Green owned the middle of the field, kudos to Ben for keep targeting him after that first big drop.

I noticed after every drop, Ben would come back and throw to the same receiver with big results.

Green is an athletic mismatch on pretty much every LB or safety in the league, hopefully he keeps getting better and better, he's still not on the field as much as he should be

Even if healthy Coates is too boom or bust. Green is much more reliable. Coates when healthy is a good deep threat...mostly because he has Ben and other players the opposing defense has to worry about.

And that's all we need. Whether he catches it or not he forces defenses to play us differently. He presence is needed and it helps

I would consider hundreds of options of why to get rid of Tomlin before the Green deal, can't really fault Tomlin for not fully knowing a guy's health status.

Just a little curious where all those who wanted to fire Tombert for the Green deal went?

Amazing what 10weeks will do for yaz............................................................

Salute the nation

I like his size and speed. He's so big and fluid, that he looks slow. 5 steps and he's 15yds down field and open. This ferrari can drive!

AND if you noticed it, and I noticed it, I'm sure other teams have noticed it. Pump fake / bomb opportunity right there!

Wow ready to hand over the keys to the kingdom after a big game.. ?

I was shocked you didn't start the " Omg I was wrong about Davis" after yesterday's game.

No he is still refusing to do that. Even pulling more **** out his *** to justify his refusal

Especially since he's the Head Coach and not the the General Manager or Team Doctor. You know, the people who ARE responsible for knowing that stuff BEFORE cutting a deal.

Let's try this again. Coates and Green play DIFFERENT POSITIONS. Not the same position with different assignments (think X,Y, Z receivers). Totally different positions (think WR and TE). You CAN actually have both of them on the field at the same time and with both being a benefit to the team. Why, you could even have both of them on the field at the same time as Bell and Brown. So, just because Green had a good game yesterday doesn't mean you throw the baby out with the bath water (i.e give up on Coates).

Well he's a coach so I'm sure he knows that

Green is stepping it up big these past few games. I think he'll get a lot more balls thrown his way until he starts getting attention. Brown will have a breakout game eventually. If not then there is always Bell to handle the load. I do think the player that will benefit when Green and AB get the looks are Jesse James and Cobi Hamilton. Hamilton can ball and has an old school attitude

you are still fighting this fight.

If he doesn't catch them, he doesn't get the attention. The productive part of the equation keeps them guessing.

That is what forces extra looks. His ability to get open and catch it.

As if that was indeed significant Coates would live on the other side of Antonio now, instead of being primarily ST's.
