The Coronavirus thread

You struggle to recognize facts vs consensus. I know you think Tucker Carlson presents facts. When in FACT, he argues that people like you are unreasonable for taking him seriously.
Here are some facts for you AGAIN FlogManbun: The virus has a bout a .03% chance of killing you unless you have significant comorbidities it is not a global killer. The masks are ineffective. The lockdowns are ineffective to and actually do more harm than good since suicides and deaths from other illnesses have gone up because of isolation. The lockdowns have caused massive harm to the economy of the whole world for no good reason. The ChiComs covered up the Wuhan Virus and allowed it to spread out of China for unknown reasons which are most likely nefarious. The Wuhan Virus was going to make it all around the world the minute it was out of the Wuhan Virology Institute because viruses spread virally. Viruses spread virally, its what they do, because of this its not going away just like the flu it will be here long after all of us are taking a dirt nap. The upshot of all this is that destroying civilization for false security against a virus that more than likely won't kill you is as stupid as every other leftist policy.

It's time's like this I really feel like making a hard exit. The level of utter trash on this board is tough to stomach.
Tibs there is no need to seek a permanent solution to a temporary problem. For the love of god don't allow your weak communist psyche to force you into suicide because Indy said something mean to you.

There are facts and there are theories. Consensus means this is what most people believe to be the case. Instead, they have for a year purported as fact that asymptomatic transmission of COVID is proven and high. And they can't substantiate it. That's the fact.

The direct attack was me referring to your kid that had Covid as your “Covid kid” which admittedly is as offensive as calling a Covid patient a “Covid patient” instead of the much less offensive “Patient that had Covid”.

You directly named a family member. Zero connection to what Indy did. None. Not in the same solar system. Tibs said he double masks, and Indy highlighted THAT phrase and posted a meme calling him a loser.

Comparing the two....apple, meet orange.

Myth. The suicide rate dropped significantly last year. That’s good news, right?

That's not wholly true. It's not binary. And we still haven't had time to understand the long term impacts of COVID and lockdowns on lives.

Suicides are up in the military. Suicides are up in our youth. Suicides in Japan are WAY up.

It depends on how you look at it. Now? Later? What countries and locales and demographics, etc.

Finally, we won't know for a decade what the impact was. They will study this as they have economic downturns by looking at the 10 years following. People are typically hardy early on in tragic situations. The long term effects wear on people. For instance, after the 2008 downturn, they looked out 10 years and were able to attribute countless suicides to people who lost their income, wealth, businesses and it took 2, 3, 7 years for the effects to turn them to desperation. Likewise, veterans still today take their lives after serving in Vietnam or Iraq. Years, and decades later.

Fact is, we don't know right the moment what the lockdowns/pandemic have done to mental health and won't for some time.

Yes it's good that suicides dropped last year. Let's wait and hope it remains that way. I'm not hopeful however. I hope I'm wrong.

Sadly, You still don't get it and your apology was as phony as a 3 dollar bill.

So when a Covid patient has cancer, it’s a comorbidity and you discount that. Otherwise, it’s a big deal.

LMAO! When have I ever discounted any comorbidity?

Can we stay on topic Hypoflog? BECAUSE people couldn't get healthcare last year, the UK is the first country to step forward with data to say they are gravely concerned about a ton of missed cases....that will kill untold numbers of people.

The point....we are going to suffer many, long-term deaths and issues as a result of these draconian lock downs.

Do you discount that?

Decaf and Flog have formed a support group: "Can We Still Talk About Trump and Covid?"

They meet once a week and pine for the old days when they had something to ***** about. Decaf guarantees - GUARAN-*******-TEES - that Trump is selling Alaska to Russia and hatching a new virus, and Flog tries to chime in but blacks out because of the four masks.

We had our QAPI meeting yesterday and the medical director for our nursing home had just come from another. 14 staff and 2 residents just tested positive for covid there. 3 of the staff had Covid before and had the vaccine. 3 have had the vaccine. 1 resident had the vax and had no symptoms and the other resident was not vaccinated and had mild symptoms. I am not sure about staff symptoms. The MD said it was various departments and could not find link to all the people. I was pretty surprised at these numbers

So apparently, according to the esteemed Jen Psaki, white conservatives are ******* up the vaccination train. If only those damn white people wouldn't refuse to get vaccinated. So they are reaching out to white conservatives through, the 700 Club, NASCAR, CMT and Deadliest Catch. Because ALL white conservatives watch those shows and channels. No, no stereotypes there.

Uh, Hey Jen...…..
Nationwide, 24% of Black Americans and 22% of Hispanic Americans say they will probably or definitely not get vaccinated, down from 41% and 34% in January, respectively. Among white Americans, 26% now say they will not get vaccinated. In January, that number was 31%.

OK, now do black people.:ROFLMAO: Could you imagine stereotyping blacks and Hispanics like that? She'd be burned at the stake.

no no no
if you get the vax, you cannot, in any way, shape or form, get the Wuhan. I believe Fauci said it.

and this is why some of us have chosen to wait on rushing to get the jabby jab. unlike the saline injected into President Peepads and Vice ***** Kneepads

Last update (since I didn't post yesterday morning like I said).

The advil helped. On Saturday night, after I took some, I started feeling a bit better. Slept fine. Woke up Sunday morning pretty much 100%. Had a slight headache still, but I drank some coffee and had some more advil and the rest of Sunday I was fine.

Overall, nothing to worry about based on my experience with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Because it's one shot, it is a bit stronger than the others. And I expect almost everyone that takes it to have some flu-like symptoms in that 8-hour to 12-hour window after getting it. But it is nothing serious. Nothing a few advil/tylenol, rest and fluids can't deal with. And after a good night sleep, you will be back to normal almost for sure.

Just get the shot. Sign up through your state websites, wait for the notice they have one available and just go get it.

That's my recommendation.

Keep an eye out for the clotting Del.

Read an article yesterday that the vaccine is ineffective against the South African variant, and that if you got vaccinated you are MORE likely to be affected (catch?) by the South African variant.

They love this spin and ignore that perhaps........just perhaps, some are taking a wait and see for reasons that are not political and more about a mistrust of the manufacturers of the vaccines, FDA, CDC and their back and forth messaging, Saint Fauci, etc, etc, etc.

KC O'Dea was talking about that this morning, pretty much said the same thing you said. Personally, I can't understand why people get so upset that another person wants to be sure that something he/she puts in his or her body isn't going to make them grow a third nipple on their forehead. Just because you didn't have any immediate side effects other than the ones stated by the CDC doesn't mean you won't in a month or two or three years. These vaccines did not go through the normal process that takes years. People are right to be cautious if that's what they choose to do.

Yep, and on the other side I don't understand people that get upset at those that choose to get a vaccine. You make the decision that's right for you, and I respect that.

For me, I'm waiting and because of the many of the reasons I cited in the prior post, but also because I'm currently going through injury from a medical device that was approved by the FDA and supposedly the best thing ever!!! Yep, except now I will have to get surgery I didn't want to remove this thing along with quite a bit of my reproductive organs going bye bye. Thanks Bayer!!!

If I was 65 or older, I'd likely go get a vaccine.

since I'm not that old, i'm being more cautious and curious about what these vaccines actually do and will do.
plus - as an extra, added bonus - if i get the KungFlu, there's a vaccine now. So ...

Wow. Sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes ok, sincerely. Please keep us up to date on your recovery.

Death from covid is not the only concern. Hospitalizations, ICU stays and long term health effects occur, none of which are pleasant. In terms of "you won't die from covid unless you have comorbidities" well yeah, but a whole lot of people have them.

Clotting disorders occur at similar rates in the general population as they have so far among the J&J vaccinated population.

This is how vaccine adverse effects generally work. Any time something happens to someone within a couple of weeks of getting a vaccine, it's reported as an adverse event. Whether there is any link to the vaccine depends on whether the incidence is higher than in the general population or not. In the vast, vast majority of vaccine adverse effects the rates are similar to the general population. It is of course good that they pay attention to anything that looks like it could be a trend and to try to determine cause and effect, but vaccines in general are some of the safest medical interventions in existence. Effects that happen months or years after a vaccine are almost unheard of if not non-existent.

Clotting disorders occur in higher rates in women who take birth control pills (we don't know if these 6 are on them or not). Clotting disorders are more common in covid patients than they have been in these vaccinated patients by the way...something in the neighborhood of 20% of all hospitalized patients.

It's too bad that this tiny number of adverse events are going to further erode confidence in these vaccines. It's also too bad that Fauci's idiotic message that you still can't be in crowds or eat indoors after being fully vaccinated is going to further erode motivation for people to get vaccinated. It is not based in any kind of science, as Rand Paul said it's pure theater so that the unvaccinated won't follow suit. We are not children who need to have our behavior managed with little white lies. We can't trust the science if the scientists are lying to us.

Getting my Moderna shot on Wednesday and hope you all get your shots.
