The Coronavirus thread

She chooses not to interact with press very often.

Gee, I wonder why?

Question asked. Question answered:

Uh. What the ****? Trump says some cringy **** on Twitter, we all know this, thanks. But OFTB probably just clicked on the d-bag's post and saw it was just bullshit he was making up. She's far from a Trump fan and I'll guess could give a **** less about needing to verify anything.

But to be real clear on where we are, an American author is falsely attributing quotes to a sitting POTUS. If that was happening to Barry Hussein, you and the rest of liberal America & the MSM would be up in ******* arms, and you know it. And rightly so.

The hypocrisy of the left is nothing new and never surprises me.

For example, I'm not a Trump fan but it cracks me up to see libs slobbering over W simply because he appears to be anti-Trump. He was a combination of a retarded chimpanzee and the anti-christ before but now he's their hero.

Lol. And Romney. And McCain. And Bolton. And on and on and on.

It's not easy keeping up with you guys as the weeks roll on, so let me get this right.

Dr. Fauci is an evil, liberal wanker who's wrong about everything. He is determined to destroy America - with Soros' backing - thus is not to be trusted.

As opposed to folks like Dr. Birx and Adm. Brett Giroir and the rest of Trump's hand-picked, crack Covid team. Oh, and that voodoo doctor from Africa, she's cool too.

So, let's hear from these legitimate voices from within the Trump administration - to help seperate fact from fiction. What's the latest? None of this is good.

Coronavirus update: Birx says U.S. has entered a ‘new phase’ of pandemic as cases, deaths rise
https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/08/02/coronavirus-covid-updates/

Deborah Birx, the physician overseeing the White House coronavirus response, warned Sunday that the United States had entered a “new phase” of the pandemic and urged people to take extreme health precautions as infections and deaths rise sharply nationwide.

“I want to be very clear: What we’re seeing today is different from March and April,” Birx told CNN’s “State of the Union,” noting that cases are increasing in rural and urban areas. “It is extraordinarily widespread.”

Birx did not rule out an estimate from former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Scott Gottlieb that virus deaths could top 300,000 by the end of the year, saying “anything is possible.” Such an outcome would be far less likely, Birx said, if people practiced social distancing and avoided large gatherings.

The seven-day average for new coronavirus-related deaths rose in nearly half of the states over the past week, pushing the national death toll past 150,000 and prompting health experts to warn that the trend is unlikely to reverse anytime soon.

Numerous states reported record daily fatalities in recent days, including California, which reported 219 on Saturday, according to tracking by The Washington Post. Florida reported a record 257 deaths on Friday, and seven-day averages for new deaths reached new highs in states across the South, the West and the Midwest.

Florida’s soaring coronavirus hospitalizations and deaths continue as Tropical Storm Isaias closes in on the state. The storm is expected to unleash strong wind gusts, heavy rain and possibly storm-surge flooding along Florida’s eastern shores from south to north through Sunday night.

Nationwide, the daily coronavirus death toll exceeded 1,000 for the sixth day in a row on Saturday, according to The Post’s data. The 1,198 new fatalities marked the most that officials have counted on a Saturday, when death reports tend to be lower than those tallied midweek, since May 9.

And on the hydroxychloroquine front?

<samp class="EmbedCode-container"><code class="EmbedCode-code"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">There is no evidence that hydroxychloroquine is an “effective” treatment for COVID-19, says Adm. Brett Giroir, who is overseeing the nation's COVID-19 testing.<br>“We need to move on from that and talk about what is effective.” <a href="https://t.co/8JVlw7LrsZ">https://t.co/8JVlw7LrsZ</a></p>— MSNBC (@MSNBC) <a href="https://twitter.com/MSNBC/status/1289949584534339586?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 2, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> </code></samp>

Let's hope there's a breakthrough soon - both with mitigation and on the medical front, and the tide starts turning in the right direction.

THAT is where we are.

I will tell you where we are. This has been the most politicized illness in the history of the country. In the past, we have come together as a country to look out for our neighbors.

Groupings of people matter. Now.....it is okay to protest, but not go to church. The minute Trump mentioned HCQ, it became Zyclon B, even though it is over the counter in many countries, and has been an effective therapeutic for 60 years. Teacher unions are keeping our kids out of schools, even though Europe is back, and doing well. Cuomo is the sane voice and is America's governor, even though his disastrous policy of sending sick into nursing homes has resulted in the worst death rates in the world. Lockdowns have destroyed the economy, but have not saved lives.

This has nothing to do with the well being of the citizenry. This is all about removing Trump and regaining power for the Dems. A five year old can see it. Clear thinkers can see it. Woketards have hurt feelings.

Nobody cares about your feelings.

This virus is bad for old and sick people. The rest, it is the flu. The data is in. Facts.

The fact that we are still even arguing that shows how political this has become. And it shows how gullible we have become as a country.
I am not feeling optimistic at this moment.

Here's how I see this.

I've posted 3 times...4 maybe....about COVID being in my house. About my son being stricken by the virus. About the battle we faced personally. Providing details about it, how it affected him and us. How he survived it. How it really wasn't a big deal to him. How we were exposed but didn't get it.

Not one resident Liberal (Fibs, Flogged, 21, Jizzed) liked one of those posts. Not one replied to one of them. Not one acknowledged a single post.

I can tell you this for a fact. If Trog had said a family member of his had had COVID, I'd have inquired. If Fibs had, I'd have wondered how how his family were doing. I'd have asked and hoped they were well.

Not one of you....not one...LIKED or said a damned thing. Not one of you. EVER.

You want me to think any Liberals have any "care" about this situation beyond the political factor it has? How any of you really care about those stricken? It's about numbers and politics. Not a single one of you care truly about those affected by it. Actions speak...right?

Tim, I know you love stirring up **** & speaking in absolutes, which is why you casually forgot I did send you my best wishes regarding your son, when I repped your post on the subject.

So I'll say it again. I wish you guys nothing but the best and it's great to hear he's doing better.

I know that doesn't help build your brand, or stoke divisions on the board, which you'd prefer, but that's how it is.

What, like dubbed videos of the Obamas? Like deep fake videos of Pelosi?

To be real clear, the falsely attributed quote was totally absurd and inconsequential. God forbid someone make it look like Trump said something ******* absurd!

Spent a long weekend at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA. It was postponed about 7 weeks. I posted earlier that Carlisle Events ended up in State Commonwealth Court suing the state to have their events and they won. Social distance and basically you just had to wear a mask if you went inside a building. Turnout was surprisingly good although down from last year's event which set an attendance record.

Carlisle Events has something at the Fairgrounds pretty much every other weekend all summer. GM Nationals, Ford Nationals, Chrysler Nationals, Corvette Nationals, Truck Nationals, etc. Brings in a ton of money to the local community.

I didn't spend a lot of time in the vendor area since my knee is bothering me but I did not see anyone selling t-shirts that said "My Governor Is A ******* Idiot". Probably didn't want to poke the bear.

Who would've ever thought? Maybe golfing-circus-clown-fake-tan-bat-****-crazy isn't the leadership vibe we need right now. A lot of good it's doing, for the country on the whole. Interesting take from Forbes.

What Do Countries With The Best Coronavirus Responses Have In Common? Women Leaders
https://www.forbes.com/sites/avivah...es-have-in-common-women-leaders/#1a79e22d3dec

Looking for examples of true leadership in a crisis? From Iceland to Taiwan and from Germany to New Zealand, women are stepping up to show the world how to manage a messy patch for our human family. Add in Finland, Iceland and Denmark, and this pandemic is revealing that women have what it takes when the heat rises in our Houses of State. Many will say these are small countries, or islands, or other exceptions. But Germany is large and leading, and the U.K. is an island with very different outcomes. These leaders are gifting us an attractive alternative way of wielding power. What are they teaching us?

Truth

Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, stood up early and calmly told her countrymen that this was a serious bug that would infect up to 70% of the population. “It’s serious,” she said, “take it seriously.” She did, so they did too. Testing began right from the get-go. Germany jumped right over the phases of denial, anger and disingenuousness we’ve seen elsewhere. The country’s numbers are far below its European neighbors, and there are signs it may be able to start loosening restrictions relatively soon.

Decisiveness

Among the first and the fastest responses was from Tsai Ing-wen in Taiwan. Back in January, at the first sign of a new illness, she introduced 124 measures to block the spread without having to resort to the lockdowns that have become common elsewhere. She is now sending 10 million face masks to the U.S. and Europe. Tsai managed what CNN has called “among the world’s best” responses, keeping the epidemic under control, still reporting only six deaths. Jacinda Ardern in New Zealand was early to lockdown and crystal clear on the maximum level of alert she was putting the country under—and why. She imposed self-isolation on people entering New Zealand astonishingly early, when there were just 6 cases in the whole country, and banned foreigners entirely from entering soon after. Clarity and decisiveness are saving New Zealand from the storm. As of mid-April they have suffered only four deaths, and where other countries talk of lifting restrictions, Ardern is adding to them, making all returning New Zealanders quarantine in designated locations for 14 days.

Tech

Iceland, under the leadership of Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, is offering free coronavirus testing to all its citizens, and will become a key case study in the true spread and fatality rates of COVID-19. Most countries have limited testing to people with active symptoms. Iceland is going whole hog. In proportion to its population the country has already screened five times as many people as South Korea has, and instituted a thorough tracking system that means they haven’t had to lock down or shut schools.

Sanna Marin became the world’s youngest head of state when she was elected last December in Finland. It took a millennial leader to spearhead using social media influencers as key agents in battling the coronavirus crisis. Recognizing that not everyone reads the press, they are inviting influencers of any age to spread fact-based information on managing the pandemic.

Love

Norway’s Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, had the innovative idea of using television to talk directly to her country’s children. She was building on the short, three-minute press conference that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen had held a couple of days earlier. Solberg held a dedicated press conference where no adults were allowed. She responded to kids’ questions from across the country, taking time to explain why it was OK to feel scared. The originality and obviousness of the idea takes one’s breath away. How many other simple, humane innovations would more female leadership unleash?

Generally, the empathy and care which all of these female leaders have communicated seems to come from an alternate universe than the one we have gotten used to. It’s like their arms are coming out of their videos to hold you close in a heart-felt and loving embrace. Who knew leaders could sound like this? Now we do.

Now, compare these leaders and stories with the strongmen using the crisis to accelerate a terrifying trifecta of authoritarianism: blame-“others,” capture-the-judiciary, demonize-the-journalists, and blanket their country in I-will-never-retire darkness (Trump, Bolsonaro, López Obrador, Modi, Duterte, Orban, Putin, Netanyahu…).

There have been years of research timidly suggesting that women’s leadership styles might be different and beneficial. Instead, too many political organizations and companies are still working to get women to behave more like men if they want to lead or succeed. Yet these national leaders are case study sightings of the seven leadership traits men may want to learn from women.

It’s time we recognized it—and elected more of it.

so having a vagina makes one more worthy of being a leader?
isnt that sexist and going against everything your beloved Left wants?

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. And whether or not they have a vagina."

amirite?

And who are the “sick”? Diabetics? Asthmatics? Obese people? So... America.

Stop it, you probably don't even know you're embarrassing yourself. The virus can be deadly to those greater than 70 with combined with a co-morbidity the likes of COPD, obesity, diabetes, etc, many of which are brought on by lifestyle choices.

Might as well list a steady diet of pizza, and McDonald's while sitting on your *** all day and watching TV as causative factors. Healthy adults, even those over 70 are at a far less risk than those that haven't chosen to take care of themselves.

And getting back to hamsters post, anyone that thinks this pandemic does not have a political aspect to it is asinine.

It's the mindset of the left......Biden's requirements for a VP pick in order of importance are a woman, a non-caucasian woman, a woke woman, someone actually qualified to be VP.

Will there come a time in the not too distant future when these belligerant, unhinged, violent Trump fanatics will be rounded-up and isolated somewhere? Perhaps a place like Riker's Island could be converted for such a purpose? These knuckle-draggers are clearly not functioning members of society and are a danger to us all, particularly women and children.

so you'd run to the polls for this leader.

that wasn't a question, Tibs. Based on your previous two responses to this post, only a woman can be a leader. Thus, Kayleigh is a leader. And you'd vote for her. Otherwise, you're sexist. Or, if you didn't vote for Kaleigh because she was running against this woman, you'd be in a quandary.
