The Cancer in the Locker Room is Tomlin

The agents had a huge part in this... especially Bell's agent. I am annoyed that a player can go to a team that he is being traded to and tell them he isn't going to play for them when he has three years left and has a no trade clause. They Steelers should be able to go after Brown and his agent for damages and get some of their money back from Brown.

Yeah I'm with you here, this seems screwy to me. As you say, a player under contact that does not include a no trade clause but yet he is able to dictate the terms of the trade. This makes the Steelers ownership and executive management look very weak as they did exactly that and got fleeced by Oakland.

I was so afraid of this when Art II took over since I never got the feeling that this was never anything more for Art II than just a business and an inheritance and not a passion like his father and grandfather. He always seemed to meek as substantiated by this debacle, and when he posed with Brown in Florida with Brown's arm around him. Geez! Thats when Rooney should have told Brown and his agent you aren't going anywhere except Pittsburgh since we cannot receive fair value after you Brown have managed to devalue yourself. Your options are play here or retire, but if you retire we want money back from you. Call that idiot and his money grubbing agent's bluff. Thats what a strong owner would have done. I think now we all know for sure where the problems begin with this team now.

I have a feeling that Buffalo leaked the trade info just so Brown could have a chance to react the way he did.

Can't blame or hold that against buffalo............ wouldn't you want to know if you were investing millions of $$$$$coin.????

BROWN is / was the problem here and nothing can change that fact. The rest is fallout created by Brown.

Salute the nation

I have no problem with what Buffalo did, but I'd be surprised if what Brown and his slimy agent is not against the rules.

if the Steelers miss the playoffs two games in a row. We've got too much talent for that.
Not anymore... I fully expect THIS to be the next bastion of Tomlin Apologist focus. The team is now essentially ordinary after the loss of Brown, Bell and Munch. That will be the new excuse for 9-7 or 8-8.

As for the Steelers. If I were part of the general management / negotiating team the next time Drew Rosenhaus walks into my building with a client I tell him to get the **** out. "Sorry Drew, but we won't ******* work with you. Here's a giant barbed-wire dildo, kindly use that on your client and then yourself."

We are just the complete antithesis of "get rid of a player a year too soon, rather than a year too late".

The Steelers under Dan Rooney used to be pretty good at this. I think somehow, once Ben got into his 30's this team got into panic mode and was afraid to dump malcontent or marginal talent with the mantra "we only have a few years left of Roethlisberger" and it's backfired. It hasn't won us championships. It hasn't made us go deeper in the playoffs.

When you look at AB's trade value even ONE YEAR AGO, it would have been 5 times the value we got (especially in terms of draft value chart). When you look at what we could have gotten for Bell, it would have been a lot more than a 3rd round pick 2 years from now. But this has been going on for a while (this whole decade). Every player decision seems a year too late. There is no forethought 2-3 years down the road. We are constantly filling immediate holes on the roster. It's just awful.

This decade has been a failure of utter proportions. No matter how you spin it, we have underachieved. We had a team that should have one at least one championship this decade. We had a team that should have pretty consistently been a premier team year-to-year. But it has been so haphazard and inconsistent. So much underachieving in the playoffs. Too many excuses.

I've been as harsh a critic of Colbert and Tomlin this whole decade. I was 100% right. A change somewhere along the line (2 years ago, 4 years ago, 6 years ago, whenever) would have been better than the path we've taken. This ship is not going to get better and its not worth going through it again and again and again. Tombert in player development is not good. Tomlin/Roethlisberger aren't a smart enough combination to lead the team on the field. We fail on both fronts and that has consistently eroded our ability to be a consistent, winning franchise that people are afraid to play come playoff time.

Remember just a few years ago thinking Bryant Bell Brown Ben and how the B's would lead us to championships.......then Bryant fizzled then Bell turned into a major *******, and now Ben is 37 and Brown is gone too. I was so excited and now I'm so disgusted. It wasn't just about winning but watching them on the field. To see HOF talent and to know they are part of YOUR team. You might think I'm nuts but in Browns 2nd year I said he would make it to the HOF. I don't say that often. From the get go he had "it" . The helmet catch in the game against the Rats down the sideline made me enamored with him and it grew from there. You would hear nonstop about his work ethic and you thought wow head my favorite. Was one of my most favorite if not most favorite player ever. But over the last year it's almost as if everything you thought of him really wasn't true. He wasn't a nice guy with a big smile who loved his team and worked hard......he really was a selfish narrcisistic head case who (after listening to speak on Twitter a number of times) was as dumb as a ******* rock. I don't know if the Steelers have done a good job at keeping things hush-hush or if his brain went to mush after too many concussions or what but God I newvwr realized into recently that he writes and talks about as dumb as the least intelligent pro athelte I've ever had the agony of listening to. I mean I listen to a recent I twrview or read a tweet and even after trying to decipher it done or five times I can't ******* figure out what the **** he's saying. He's a dumb ******* ignant piece of trash and so in a nut shell you broke my heart AB. I've loved you in a Steelers uniform for so long so I want to see you break records and make the HOF as a Steeler but I also want to see you banktrupt and in jail and mocked by your peers and suffer an injury in Oakland or watch Carr throw over your head over and over and watch you implode out west. I'm confused and it's your fault for being a ******* ********** and it's my fault for believing you were different and worthy to be one of the jerseys I wear with pride. I hate you for having to want to see you fail and not getting the chance to see you flourish with the Steelers in the years to come. But line I said it's my fault for not spending more time on finding out sooner how ******* dumb of an individual you always have been and how you have always been a liar and an ******* but I guess you became your daddy which makes sense......only an ******* walks out on his kids and doesn't speak to them until his kids are famous. You stayed true to your dad's assahole leagacy.....great job AB!!!!
