That would have been a top ten gut wrenching loss

14 point second half lead. Could have had 5 turnovers today. An apparent scoop and score followed by a deflected punt turns into no points. Massive Stat days by AB and Williams. Even when Tomlin tries to do the right thing and put a sure handed AB in on a punt it blows up in his face with a fumble. I was spewing out hatred of the whole thing in the fourth quarter. I literally felt like the football gods were punishing us. I was tired after that game. And don't get me wrong, I'm glad they won and it sounds like Ben will be OK,but they should have won by 21. At least.

I agree. emotional game

Agreed. I when we went up by 14, I thought the game was over. Then I could feel it slipping away. Nothing seemed to be going our way... and as you stated, we had already squandered a couple opportunities. Glad to bet the win, happy about the news/timing on Ben's injury, and ecstatic that if the playoffs started today, we'd be a Wildcard. Can't ask for much more than that. :-)

I even posted in the game thread that I still felt impending doom even when things started to turn in our favor. Ugh!!

I am glad for Cockrell. Thank goodness for a player that appears to be smart, cause they for damn sure have a few dumbasses. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this celebrating while a football is loose on the field in my life, and I have been watching football longer than I'd like to admit. Maybe some of the intelligence can wear off on Mitchell and Nix. It's elementary. Wait until the whistle blows, then celebrate.

It's okay...we've all seen this play out before and we usually end up cursing on the board all week at the coaches, the players, and at each other. Thank goodness we won and can have a kumbaya week filling threads about Ben's health and hopes of Landry getting a win against Cleveland. Kumbaya my Ben....Kumbaya! Oh, Steeler Nation...kumbaya!

****. Wrong thread. I'm not even boozing.

Come on man ... you know the rules. There will be no Kumbaya week following a win. When the non-contributors start posting, it will all turn to **** and ashes.

Has anyone else recognized how the Steeler offense will play conservative, with any sort of lead? It could be a 1 point lead, and they will shut it down. Only when the other team's offense scores, will they even play aggressive.

Its amazing that we even have a winning record with all the games missed by starting players this season....

It could've ended in a loss but we sustained....all that matters..........ill take a W anytime I can get one....every single one is gonna be needed down the stretch.

Just because you run the ball doesn't mean you are shutting it down. You don't call run plays expecting to get stuffed. Players have to execute. Were they shutting it down when Williams ripped off his big run?

I'm satisfied with the win, it's part of the journey this season. Go Steelers!

This. Look at how Dallas is doing missing its qb and wr. They're 0-5 without romo and dez. Although Tomlin still pisses all of us off, his "next man up" mantra has kept us afloat. He does deserve a tip of the cap for that.

Also, did anyone else notice how much more physical the steelers were today? Oakland was dropping like flies.

I was expecting the worse too watching the game. I think because we've been so snake-bitten with key injuries it was like, what next.

Must be boring/easy to be a Pats fan. The Steelers literally had one easy win. The rest are all last series or two at the most. Two last plays and an overtime loss.

I said to others after taking the14 point 4th quarter lead, in Cowhers day, it was time to pour the shot and light the cigar, now, you gotta watch and hope.

I just have to give in to the fact if we do not get on the QB we will not hold a lead.
