That unforced fumble really helped flip big Mo over to the Steelers side
 
I also liked the fact that after Green torched Taylor for an 81-yard TD to go over 200 receiving yards, the Steelers put Blake on Green.

Blake did a pretty decent job, IMO. Batted away a key deep pass, and the one complete he gave up, he was right on Green's hip and the dude just made a good catch. The secondary is not going to be All-Pro this season; I understand that. If they do just a decent job, and the Steelers get some pass pressure from Tuitt (who had a good game, by the way), Heyward, Jones and a healthy Harrison, then the defense may just have enough ... just enough, since the offense can put up 40.
 
The problem is the offense can't relied upon to score 30-40 pts.

Great team win.
 
What is sad is that for the first time in years the O averages over 25 points per game and the d has fallen off of a cliff... had we just replaced Arains and his myriad of jackhole blocking and rushing schemes 5 years ago, we probably have another SB and certainly more playoff appearances

I don't know about that ... Ben, Bell, Brown, Bryant, Miller, Wheaton - whom do you cover with an ILB and leave open?? How do you stop Bell with 7 in the box? If you bring a safety down to slow down Bell, you are going 1-on-1 on either Brown or Bryant, and covering Bell out of the backfield with a LB'er.

This may be right but our offense may be our biggest hope and best chance. This may have to be a change in Steeler history having our offense carry our defense. And to add to that I am not so upset about that cause in this day in the NFL you need to be better on offense then defense cause the NFL don't want defense.

Why don't you ask the clowns, TB, Jets and Saints.. they had no problem doing it.

Yes in theory this offense should be unstoppable. But as we saw against that ****** Saints defense and against the Browns and even the Jets that this offense is at best...inconsistent.

They have more than enough fire power to hang with anyone including your SuperBowl contenders.

One week they're unstoppable force the next week they can't do anything right.

Steelers offense has as much playmakers and talent as Broncos and Patriots.....only difference? They're consistence....you just know they'll put up 30 almost every week. And they start fast...those two teams jump on others very quickly and as soon as the other team abandons the game plan and plays catch up and make a mistake they make em pay for it.

That's what we need....consistency and start out strong...don't wait till 3rd and 4th qtr...that might ok against some teams but against Manning, Brees, Rodgers and Brady by the time you're moving the ball you're already down by 3 TDs

Great example was against Brees...by the time offense started scoring and moving the ball Brees had already hang 35 points on the defense.

Start fast, help your defense and dot it consistently. They certainly have the talent as we saw today.
 
IMO our offense should be 3wr-1TE-1RB, spread the D out, it allows Ben to see where the pressure may be coming from easier, it makes it tougher on teams to just fill the box and stop the run, and if teams stay in their base D they will have to use a S or LB to cover our 3rd WR, our TE, and Bell. So most teams will take a big off the field and bring in an extra DB, then we can pound them with Bell and get Miller and Bell in mis-matches on LB's or a S.

Bryant did not play vs. Tampa or the Clowns. Ben's performances vs. Jets and Saints were lousy.

I will agree that if Ben is airmailing receivers, then the team has basically no chance. I cannot explain what the @#%$ happened with Ben against the Jets and Saints. I am less concerned about him than anybody else, apart from Brown and Bell, and I just don't see him being the problem going forward.

The problems, in order, are (1) secondary, (2) pass rush, (3) lack of turnovers from defense ... (19) Ben Roethlisberger.
 
Blake looks to be working his way into a job... Classic steeler overachiever...
 
Unforced or not, Moats did an excellent job attacking the ball and using his body to shield the Gingerbread man from getting the ball back. Anyone else notice that it looked a lot like the But Fumble? Gotta Love the Bungles!

I'd say the the problems are (1) pass rush, (2) secondary... (19) Ben.

The reason the Defense back in 05 and 08 was dominant was BECAUSE of the Pass Rush. Porter, and Co and the Deebo/Woodley combo created sufficient pressure to force early/poor throws.

bottom line, until we start to generate consistent pressure from the line and OLBs we will have a hard time beating teams.

It might be nice for the deep safety to occasionally be in position to help out. And it would be good if Ike could actually cover his man.
