I think this has a lot to do with Gilbert being out. From what I've read, the coaching staff sees Toussaint as the better pass blocker, and with their starting right tackle not there for four games, that's why they made the move.

Its not like they released Connor for Trussaint..

Watson showed me nothing in his limited short yardage carries during the regular season...In pre-season he looked much more powerful and elusive, but against the Varsity...As Yukon Cornelius used to say............Nothing!

Conner isn't a experienced vet. Watson isn't a experienced vet, the chips are on the table for the second half of the season. Down to the nitty gritty.

Croissant can pass block, and pass catch.

Two areas that aren't Conner's strength...................... yet.


In some ways it was surprising they took this long to make the move....

If I Remeber right.......this 3rd string running back had a hand in our "season over" last year.

Well chances are if we get down to our third string RB again we might be in trouble anyways. And what exactly makes one think Watson is head and shoulders above Toussain? I think Toussain is the more versitle RB. Watson has done very little here when asked. Chances are he will still be available later if we want to resign him. So crying that this a horrible move blah blah blah is yes...laughable at this point.

Makes zero sense, Watson played how many snaps, where does Tomlin have a clue what he could have done on the field, If you want a kick returner than how about going after this type player. Sounds fishy as if another player got in the dog house of Tomlin.

As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers made one practice squad move on Tuesday and it included running back Terrell Watson being signed to the 10-man unit.
Watson, who was waived from the Steelers 53-man roster on Saturday to make room for running back Fitzgerald Toussaint being signed off the team’s practice squad, had dressed and played in the first 10 regular season games this season. The Azusa Pacific product was mostly used on special teams during those 10 games but did rush five times for 8 yards in his limited offensive snaps.

Agreed, Bryant looked like a natural out there Sun night, finally a returner with a legit burst of speed. Seems like a perfect role for him from this point on.

this could also be due to other teams losing RBs over the past couple weeks. Croissant sitting on our PS was easy picking for some desperate **** hole of a team. Though we should have allowed it to happen, IMO.

Would have rather them kick the tires on Darren Mcfadden, atleast he has real NFL experience.
Once again our playoffs are squarely on the shoulders of a healthy Bell. ZERO Depth.
Why don't they cut some of the scrub recievers (Rodgers) and get a half decent backup RB
besides fitzgerald, Conner being on the field is gonna get Ben killed.

McFadden announced his retirement today after being released from Dallas.
