The Steelers have released running back Terrell Watson, and promoted running back Fitzgerald Toussaint from the practice squad. Toussaint failed to make the 53 man roster during training camp after spending most of the past two seasons as the backup to Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams. Watson was primarily the short yardage back this season, […]

Toussaint will return kicks ...

Which means if they bring one out it will be less than the 25yard line. JuJu would get one past the 25 and seemed like he was the ONLY one who actually looked like they had a chance. I hope Toussaint has UPed his game as I kinda liked Watson.

Say it ain't so Terrell!

Maybe we can get this kid on the PS. He hasn't done much besides pick up a few short yardage first downs early in the season, returned a few kicks. Then came the game where he failed to get a first down on a couple of fourth-and-short plays, maybe at that point Tomlin had seen enough. I still love the kid, great story with him, worked really hard to get here. I hope he still gets a chance down the road.

I don't understand this move. I liked watsons style, but realistically this move wont make much impact

I dont get it. Cutting a guy so you can put another guy on a kick return. What is wrong with DHB for a week or two. Im not sure what Watson is, how would anyone know when cool shades runs Bell every down but 5. I know he didnt fumble the ball in a divisional round possibly costing them the game.

I like Watson as a #3 RB..not a returner ffs.

This was a bad move. Watson was already returning kicks, so that's not the reason why he was cut. Perhaps we'll learn soon.

And it's not like we needed Toussant, we had Sutton back and he can also return kicks.

Bell has a habit of not finishing the year sp now we have the always dinged up Conner and Fritz backing him up, more brilliance from Tomlin who loves this worthless POS.

Hate this move, really hate it. The front office does not know best.

Time will tell if Watson did something to merit this "cut". We don't know if they will practice squad him or not?? I think it's a less than steller move but do hope Touesantt proves differently. As I said,......time will tell

Terrell Watson will promptly sign with the Patriots and earn a SB ring.

I personally see it as poor roster management if the only choice for the roster spot at this point in the season is a UDFA who flashed some potential and then didn't convert on minimal opportunities and the guy that brings nothing to the table, but has clutched onto a roster spot through being Tomlin's boy and chillin on the ps being a good soldier. If Watson wasn't good enough, Touissant sure is hell not the answer. ****, you could slap that washed up cut bait Knile Davis back there and get the same ****** result. C'mon...

Tomlin will ride Bell till the wheels fall off, Connor...who knows? But when Bell's wheels fall off, we will see whoever has that spot (Watson/Touissant) and we've all seen that scary movie if it is indeed Fitzgerald. Until then we get to watch a big lumbering back on KR getting us the 18-22 yard line.

That ps spot Fitz was taking could've been a rotation of athletes until we found one worthy of next man up. I for one one would've definitely kept with Watson or a street FA...I know Fitz T is NOT the answer.

Absolutely love that we have all the ability to get #7 with Ben's window closing and we seem to be overcoming some (self inflicted) adversity, this could be a magical season and things like this can distract me from things like Gilbert getting suspended, Martavis being an idiot...you know the serious stuff.

All this for the 3rd string RB, who has a total of 8 yards rushing? We know they are playing the percentages on KO's. 25 yd line is a better starting point unless you have a short kick.

Wow.... Now this entire post over a 3rd string RB. Gotcha. Season is over I guess.

If I Remeber right.......this 3rd string running back had a hand in our "season over" last year.

I think this has a lot to do with Gilbert being out. From what I've read, the coaching staff sees Toussaint as the better pass blocker, and with their starting right tackle not there for four games, that's why they made the move.
