Team needs to use the bye on a legitimate backup RB

I think his skill set has diminished too far but otherwise I would. Who cares about the other ****.

You mean old and slow and hasn't played football in over a couple of seasons...Yeah. Bring him in and kick those old deflated tires. :)

No, they will run Williams until the wheels come off, then Toddman gets to play. Only 1 running back gets to play people! Don't you understand?

If there were someone viable out there, wouldn't you think teams that are desperate for running back help, like Detroit or Houston, would jump at the chance?
Steelers are lucky to have Williams.
And if they need to...........5 wide baby!

Definately here, some under value williams. We signed him at the right time. It helped that our "star" RB would be under suspension so our need was a little motivated. Williams has done very well to date. Can he sustain the rest of the season, who knows. Todman will get his touches soon and I for one hope he makes good use of them. If not, search the depleated scrap heap because that is all thats left.

Salute the nation

I'm more concerned about QB. Is Vick ready to go if Landry Jones goes down? Is he even adequate?

Yeah, I mean old and slow, and no I wouldn't kick those tires. He is done. But I would kick the tires on Pierre Thomas and Robert Turbin and any other EXPERIENCED back that I would be willing to put on the field for some series or third down. You see I believe in overarching strategies unlike captain cool shades. He is thinking to himself that he will put in Toddman for mop up. What he fails to recognize is that there is no mop up with this team. Every game will come down to 10 points or less, so you will never put in a guy with no experience, because you will fear the fumble factor. And Williams who is playing great will either wear out or get injured and then you are ******.

Is Dri Archer still available? That kid has wheels, he was never used properly.

What I never understood about Archer was that he came out of college and in his first pre season, they got him the ball in space and he did some things. Even against the firsts and seconds. Then the real games started and I can honestly say he never looked fast. He never got into a position where his real speed showed. To be fair to that kid, they should have been able to get him a couple of dump passes, check downs and let him get the corner. You have to be able to utilize that type of speed a little. Now he couldn't break an arm tackle to save his soul. I always thought they should line him up in an I and then go single and slide him into a slot and find him something. To some extent it was poor coaching, but I did hate the pick and was happy to see him gone when his only job was kick return.

I think he had ****** vision, against first string players you better be shifty.

I think he was more Al Davis type pick, straight line speed.

Great if you are running a 40 yard dash, not so great if you have bodies flying toward you factoring in.

They didn't put Toddman in the game when they were up by 21 and 6 minutes left. They let him go in when they got to half. Go get a veteran with a 50 miles of tread left on the tires. If they don't get someone this week. They are stupid. Next topic.

While I'm no Tomlin fan I think I will take him over you. Amazing that you put your self above him....I have no clue in what it takes to be a HC in the NFL. I don't pretend to either. I'm sure they have people keeping track of current FA's. By the way.....Where do you rate Tomlin? Top 10? 20? Bottom 10?

The team needs another running back. I liked how the oline and Williams stepped up to take the pressure off Ben. QB is still my concern. But if Williams gets overused, the running game will not bail out Ben and he will take some unwanted hits. Take a look at a quality RB

This team needs a backup QB for two weeks from now if vick and Jones are both still out

In Tomlin's post game presser he said Landry could have went back in if needed.

I took it if it was an emergency situation he would/could of. His foot had about 30 rolls of tape around it.

It is just that you have two weeks after Sunday to get someone game ready. And it is such a simple self question. We are fighting for a playoff spot. Are we we willing to put in Toddman or Pead into a game for more than just two plays. If the answer is no, you need to bring in someone you would.

Well what is the point of bringing someone new in when they would face the same situation as Pead in having to learn the playbook before they have any faith in giving him playing time.

Relax already

Not saying I could take his job. Would never have the respect of the players and don't have that kind of knowledge. You are right. It is way too much to ask to have him learn from last year and most of the league runs with one running back. Particularly a 30 plus back. I'm sure this won't blow up in his face.

Do you live in fantasy world? Even if we do bring in another RB there is no guarantee that they would be any better than what we currently have. None. Zippo. Zilch. Natha. Or did it work out for you in Madden?

I don't play Madden or fantasy football or any of that grown up teenage crap. I coach football. And I know running back is the most physical position and you need more than one. Ask yourself one question. Williams gets hurt. Are they going with Toddman and Pead. Last year when Bell was hurt did they go with the same type of players? You get one bye to bring in an experienced back and get him coached up for two weeks. Now I would cut Jacoby Jones to free a roster spot. Move Wheaton to that position and tell him to take a knee most times. Then you could keep the two developmental guys if you want and bring in a guy like Thomas you might actually use and would certainly be calling if Williams gets hurt. But that is just me.

They already brought in their guy with Pead. Give him a chance to learn the playbook, Toddman got some carries at the end of the game as well. Last year, they cut Blount, but didn't sign anyone until Bell went down. This year, Bell went down and they immediately tried out Pead and signed him. It's completely different situation from last year. We still have three guys on the depth chart, and once Pead is up to speed, he'll get his hat on gamedays. I expect him to be active against the Seahawks.

We need abye rest up next part of schedule not easy for us especially. We don't do well in Seattle, we have our division, good defense Denver, back up QB did not look bad and not sure what team you get in Colts land.

Regardless of who the backup is, why would you not get him as many touches as you can with a big lead over cleveland at home? Especially with Williams showing nothing on the day and dealing with a mild injury all week.

Because they don't believe in him and are afraid he will fumble.
