It has been a terrible year on the salary cap, between the Scobbee fiasco and the trades and all the other guys having to be brought in. However, I think they have to make an honest move to bring in a veteran running back. When I see Williams bust off a big run and they bring Toddman in for one play and Williams is back in the alarms ring off in my head. They need to bring in a guy who can take 8-10 touches, two or so series. Someone they feel comfortable with the ball security. The drop off from Bell to Williams hasn't been that drastic. They need to keep the guy a little fresh, he is post 30.

I just see it like Archer. The proof is in the pudding. If they believed in Toddman, he would have played two series last week. They don't. Like when Bell got hurt and Williams was gassed, they didn't put Archer in. The writing was on the wall. We don't believe in you son. Bring in someone you do.

Not much out there... Moreno ? Ball?

but it wouldn't hurt to kick a few try outs to see if we can get a backup upgrade....

With bringing in Pead, I am thinking though, they won't.

It is just that you have two weeks after Sunday to get someone game ready. And it is such a simple self question. We are fighting for a playoff spot. Are we we willing to put in Toddman or Pead into a game for more than just two plays. If the answer is no, you need to bring in someone you would.

And this is just history repeating itself too. Last year, when **** for brains left the team many off us said they needed to get a back. Tomlin acted like no, we got Josh Harris. And even though he didn't enter the games, they didn't make a move. Then poof. Bell gets hurt and they are scrambling for a legitimate back. And Harris played squat cause they knew he wasn't good enough and now he is gone.

yep one thing I hate about the current management, they don't fix repetitive mistakes...until often it is too late.

Todman is better than Josh Harris. And with Pead coming in, I just don't see them trying to find anyone else. Wouldn't mind Moreno getting a look though. Why is he out of work?

I thought it was reported back in the summer that he basically would be unable to play football for the entire '15 season because he's trying to get his knee "right". I don't think he's serviceable.

Todman and Pead. Get used to it. They won't get anyone else. Who else is there?

Barlow is 36. No way we dig his fossiled *** up to bring in.

I'm wondering why Montee Ball is still unemployed, though. Seems a 2nd rounder would be better at his role than Todman.

Pats are in the same boat. They looked at Pierre Thomas and Robert Turban. Now with Thomas, you could at least put him on the field as a third down guy, he can block and catch. He is a guy who could start one series per half. If the guys they have behind Williams can't do that, why are they there.

Sarcasm much?

Maybe Ball. Not No Show Moreno. The team just needs to get healthy. Strong playoff push after the bye

Couldn't we just say that about every position? Better bring in someone better than what we have.....what if someone gets hurt? Kick every tire out there at EVERY position because if player A gets hurt we only have player B. Better bring in player C or D. Kick the tires on them. We all know player B sucks and can't do anything because after player A made a long run player B only had one F'n carry. Why o Why is player B even here? Why I say!!!

I agree. What's better than what the Steelers have now? They are fine. The focus should be on getting healthy. And maybe Landry Jones working on some throws. Bens health is at his age, just need a quality back up QB

Moreno is injured from what I read.

Maybe give Robert Turbin a look? I know he fumbled a few times but maybe it was a fluke.

Running back is not the same as other positions. That is why teams carry sometimes as much as 4 tailbacks. 30 plus year old guys can't carry the ball 20 plus times a game for 16 games plus playoffs. They where down. You need a viable guy that can play a couple series and or third down.

I agree. I'm sure Holdman will get his carries in the games to come. At this point of the season you or I don't know if he will hold up as a viable back up to a back up. Time will tell I guess but it seems some want or think teams should have 3 or 4 starters on there team in case there is an injury. You would think one would feel fortunate to have Williams on our team and that he is producing as he is. Some would think he has helped save our season. Or I guess one could just ***** about having a better back up to our back up.

I'm not bitching. I'm saying let's see what Toddman can do this week. But if they don't you better go get someone you would play. You have two weeks to prepare someone ready. No point in having a player you wouldn't play.

I think his skill set has diminished too far but otherwise I would. Who cares about the other ****.
