Let’s be real.. I don’t feel like typing paragraphs so I’ll put this in the form of deductive reasoning

Premise 1: Art2 is keeping Tomlin
Premise 2: We ain’t winning **** with Tomlin
Premise 3: Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson are going to give us fits for the next decade +
Premise 4: Ben is nearing the end and his remaining “good years” will be wasted with a brainless head coach
Premise 5: Tomlin won’t survive beyond a season with a record bad enough to get the first overall pick
Premise 6: Tua is a sure-fire can’t-miss prospect due to his insane level of accuracy with his downfield passes, and dynamic play-making ability
Conclusion: Just tank 2019 for one of the most accurate college QBs I’ve ever seen. We can pull a Peyton Manning in 2011 if need be. We will immediately have competition for Baker/Lamar (better, in fact, I would argue) and be set for the next probably 12-15 years with a brand new coach and future QB ready to go when Ben is ready to hang it up

I mean sure I would hate to waste another year of the Ben+AB WiFi but let’s be real.. we could field the entire first team All-Pro roster and Tomlin would lead us to 8-11 wins with a couple losses to bottom-dwellers and 5 or 6 wins eeked out in the last possession.

**** this. I’m tired of this whole ******* team. We NEED Tua Tagovailoa in black & gold.

I hate losing so against tanking.

Besides you act like one year of tanking would do the trick on getting him canned.

I have my doubts.

The NFL is getting harder and harder to watch each year. After Ben hangs it up, I think I’ll be watching less and less of Steelers. I already don’t watch other teams, besides the browns game today.

But but the talking heads are saying it’s better than ever

To all you guys saying “hell no” “put the bottle down” etc.. can you refute my argument? If you accept all my premises, it’s the only logical conclusion to come to.

Do you not accept all my premises? If not, which one(s)? Why? If you do accept all my premises, is it purely emotional - just as a fan don’t want to see the team lose a bunch of games and tank a season? I know it would be hard but so, so worth it

Tua will be a one hit wonder in the NFL, if he is even that successful. Only the Browns would pin their future on that level of talent.

There’s no guarantee Tua is going to be a great QB. There have been other greater QBs come to league and urinate all over themselves. I’m not wasting Ben’s remaining years for a big question mark.

Considering you referred to him as another Bob Griffin, who he plays nothing like, I don’t think you’re qualified to make this statement. He’s much more Russell Wilson than he is Bob Griffin

Understood. I believe in the kid, so I get where you’re coming from. I just think he’s the real deal. Maybe I need to add that to my premises

My assessment had nothing to do with his playing style, but rather the fact that he might have one good year before being exposed and fading into obscurity, aka RG3.

Tua's not worth tanking for. Lots of successful QBs in Saban's system, and how many are starting in the NFL?

Stupidist post ever. Best case scenario he's as good as Dan Marino and how many Super Bowls did he win? Completely flush a season for a guy that may turn out and even if he does, doesn't guarantee a ******* thing.

You act like we haven’t flushed every season in the past 8 years one way or another

The Steelers can't tank a season for a player. I love Tua as much as the next guy but you can't tank a season for any one guy. I'm glad they got Ben but I'm glad they didn't tank the season because we probably have Rivers instead of Ben. Football isn't like hockey or baseball. These guys play hard every week for 16 weeks. You can't lose games on purpose.
