By Adam McCoy SteelerNation.com It seems like it was forever ago that the announcement was made that our future Hall of Fame quarterback,*Ben Roethlisberger, was going to be out for the rest of the season. Many thought that without his impact, the team would be lost, and a playoff berth would be nothing but a […]

I feel it is positive impact. Please don't curse me for my opinion. Ben prime is over, we can see the same when he was facing any good pass rush team from past few seasons. He himself said that he would not take risks like earlier. On top of that injuries in the middle of the games and retirement dramas etc. Otherside Tomlin is not in a position to control him due to obvious reasons. Now It is good opportunity to test Tomlin's real capability to prepare winning team with his own QB and defense.

Absence of three Bs is making franchise more productive. everybody including front office, coaches and players leaving their comfort zone and putting extra effort for making better team. Because of AB and Bell mess we had a good off season which focused on bounce back.

Earlier our game plans always based on play maker capabilities. So plan should like execessive feeding stud players. So others who have talent (Like Martivas Bryant, Blount etc) won't feel part of game plan and we will eventually lose them. Otherside for opposite teams, It is very easy to predict us, and prepare the game plan just to shutdown our studs.

Now game plan is more like involving more ppl, going creatively to ease the burden on players etc, so less technic guy will also do some plays. Team will come together for wins.

We are just five games without three Bs so we need to go long, but I am feeling optimistic with this team and franchise. At one point of time there won't be Ben, so why don't we waste till he retires and giving SBs to Pat's. We have to retain our supremacy. It is getting late already, we need to act fast.

Sorry but disagree. Having studs doesn't make it easier for opposing teams to game plan. Quite the reverse.

We have beaten who so far, lets not up out of our seats just yet. The team has some young energized players but no one has made a bid for the HOF as of yet.

Not having Ben at QB instantly makes this team worse, and there's no way around that, not sure how anyone could possibly think different. It's making the franchise more productive? WTF? Is that Shannon Sharpe posting here?

Lots of fans don't think there is going to be a downside to losing Ben. Ben has been so good for so long that some just don't appreciate him. Rudolph maybe a good QB but just watching his passes should tell anyone that he isn't in Ben's league. Ben is also a HOF QB. That's not easy to do. Beating 3 teams with a combined 3 wins has some fans a bit overjoyed.

Fans that think there is no down side to not having a franchise QB, obviously have no clue as they have never had to live through that scenario. Everyone that remembers the almost 20 years after Bradshaw retired, remember and it sure did suck. Rudolph still has tremendous upside and could turn into a franchise type QB (as could Hodges but we have less to evaluate with him to this point) but right now, we have no one to step in and provide anywhere near the caliber of play at QB that Ben has provided.
