I was very much indifferent the last few weeks. I didn't care if the Steelers lost out. But, they won 3 in a row and looked pretty good doing it. Now, I want to see them stay hot heading into the playoffs and hopefully win at least one game to get that monkey off their back. Win this week and then maybe rest some players against the Ratbirds. If the Rats lose this week before we play, under no circumstance should Tomlin rest any one unless they are injured. Too many times, a rested Tomlin team is too rusty when the playoffs start.

yeah but with grumpy edgy Mike comes cocky Mike, now that everyone will be talking about how great we are, instead of how bad we are, we'll see what happens.

Good news is that if Denver has to come here, we'll smash them, if SD has to fly across country will beat them and if Houston has to play here we'll shut them out, that's what's on Pittsburgh sports radio right now. So that's 4 of the 7 teams down.

I think if Houston comes to town they might shut us out. That defense is really good.

It is more than that. Our O was in the rut because it seemed our game plan went back to Tomlinball. Now it is more open. Mixing things up in the run and pass. On D we are also doing things a bit differently. Playing more aggressive. Not giving them the entire middle of the field on every play. My take anyway.

FULLy agree here but would like to add

1). the injury to watt seems to have catapulted the tomlin into being way more agressive instead of sitting back and waiting for the watt majic. In a sense, Watt’s injury has been a good thing…. Twisted but a way to look at it.

2) the tomlin still has the conservative bug, he went turtle ball both times we went up by 12. You will go nowhere if that continues to happen.

3). The middle of the field has been included in the offensive game plan, it has showed these last three games.

4). Aaaa-Ron has played as well as a 42 yr old can play. He has risen this junk offensive scheme to actually be a factor in opposing team’s game planning.

Thanks for you great post(s) stillwright,….. appreciate yaz

Stop being a bunch of sissies and just enjoy it for what it is and see what happens. The Steelers have actually been fun to watch for a few weeks.

Definately, haven’t had this much to watch in awhile. It’s almost like we think we might have a shot……..

Tomlin is now 1 behind Noll in regular season wins
Meh, Noll was here slightly longer but for much of his time they were playing 14 game seasons.
Also in his day there were between 7 and 9 future Hall of Fame head coaches on the sidelines every week. In Shades' era I got him, Belicheat, Hairball, and Andy Reid in the HOF and I can't think of anyone else.

Well said
Wonder if the midseason slump and Steeler hof players calling him out got him to change some things offensively. It looks different.
Tomlin may have struck gold at the bottom of the depth chart.

Dylan Cook holding his own against Hutchinson was shocking to me. Thats 2 great games. In a row. I may be wrong but Cook looks like a difference maker. Bigtime

Did he unlock the run game we've been missing? Looked it yesterday

Same goes for team competition. Current equality seems to be the normal and a much weaker game.

i think it is the Raiders & Steelers combined for 8 of the ten AFCCG. One team or the other or both made to the AFCCG in the 70s. you had the oilers / bengals were legit / . It wasn’t an easy division yet alone conference.

Tomlin’s win count isn’t nearly as impressive as Noll’s or Cowher for that matter as tomlin had a HOF QB near his entire career.
