I don't think it will be that close of a contest for at least 1 reason: Switz is available much more often than Rogers has been. If you can't play, you can't help.

Switz touched the ball in every game but 1 last season. Rogers has missed a lot of games. All things being anywhere near equal, the guy with durability wins the roster spot.

Plus, I think Ben has built a rapport with Switz, that is more recent than any Rogers has developed.

I think we are looking at a WR unit of JuJu, Moncrief, Washington, DJ, Switz and then....?

Rogers has better hands and runs quicker routes. Switz is tougher and more versatile (lines up in the backfield and skat back roles, and is the better blocker).

As returners, I think it's a push. Both are OK and not expected to break one, but also not expected to muff one.

With DJ and Spencer both Slot capable and better returners, there is a chance neither of them make the roster.

I will take Switz. I actually think he is quicker. And has better hands. And is a better returner. Maybe because you just dont see Rogers as Bob stated for various reasons.

I'll take Switz, just cuz I like the kid.

I hope the best players are kept regardless of who I like. I do like Cope's detailed analysis of these WRs.

Agree. I'll trust the powers to be to make the right call, and that very well could be both.
I do like Rogers, and he has made some big catches for us. I think Switz can do the same, and I'm pulling for him, seems like a really good character guy.

I agree with this. Switzer has the better 40, and had the best 20 yard shuttle in his draft class for a receiver. Rodgers to me always seemed shifty but slow.

We already had more than one discussion on this topic. Switz, hands down. He was a better receiver (and gadget play guy) last year even though he wasn't here to get the benefit of OTA's and a full camp. And, he is very good on special teams. I liked Rogers early but he never lived up to what many were saying during his early OTA's, etc. with the team and then he had injuries.

Detailed but wrong.....in my opinion anyways.

Ideally the offense doesn't need much from either guy. You hope that you get JuJu and Moncrief to step up into their new roles at the feature No. 1/2 receivers and get contributions from Washington and Johnson. As we get to the bottom of the WR depth chart, I look at who can do more for me and I think Switzer offers a little bit more in terms of roster depth.

It is not a given that either make it, plus we don't know if there will be injuries. But being that Ben is comfortable with both, I feel one will make it. And, I'm leaning on Switz getting the nod, he is Ben's security blanket and the team made it clear Ben gets what Ben wants (within reason).

That, and he became Ben's safety valve last year. He needs one on 3rd and short to move the chains. Of course the RBs and TEs provide some of that as well.

Wrong is OK, as are opinions. At least he adds football content and it's usually thought provoking.

I think Switz is a team guy and fits in well. That's not to say Rogers isn't per se, but you get a good feeling about Switz as a solid teammate.

as was the prevailing opinion last time we discussed this..Switz would likely win out if it came down to the two of them (unless Rogers is spectacular in camp).....but what seems to be pop's favorite steeler news site ran an article so he had to post it here

I think switz is very steady anns reliable, but i think rodgers has a bit more upside. I do think Switz has an edge as far as returning goes though.

Ben likes Switzer better I think. You need some guys you have chemistry with.
Juju, Moncrief, Washington, Johnson all sure makes. Then it becomes Switz, Rogers, CFL Dionte, and the rest fighting it out for 5/6

In the 3 games Rogers played last year he had 12 catches for 79 yds and Switzer had 6 catches for 29yds in those games.
Seems like if Ben favored Switz over Eli, Ben would have gone more to the player he played with all year. I think Rogers is the better
WR, if Johnson takes over return duties, Switzer could be odd man out. Although I think they keep 6 WR and both, unless we have
a camp surprise.
