If you get a chance to watch A Football Life on the NFL network about Swann and Stallworth, it will be worth your time.

They played in a different era where you weren't targeted 10 times a game, and were hit brutally on a regular basis.

They'll replay it about a half hour after the Steelers game tomorrow, at 8PM EST.

They also didn’t wear super sticky super glue gloves that the guys of today wear.

These guys were truly bad *****.

When you see Joe Greene carry Swann off the field it just makes you realize how tough these guys truly were.

No they didn't. They put the glue directly on their hands.

You're right about something.

I remember Fred Biletnikoff doing that. Also the tear away jersey.

And no talk of cte either. Those guys took a beating and still kept at it. Just tough dudes. Now you have guys taking a dive every other play and refs running the whole **** show.

Wait, what!!! I guess that's why those tough dude didn't filed a lawsuit against the NFL. ohhhh wait, they did.

There is a difference between being tough and being smart. Playing football while being half out of it does not mean your tough. I could sit there and whack my hand with a hammer over and over but that does not make me tough. A lot of today's players would fight / play through injuries if they were allowed.

They weren't all neanderthals, we called Franco "pigpen" because he seemed to find a soft spot to fall on or go out of bounds rather than take the unnecessary beating.

I have a vague memory of Swann and Stallworth wearing scuba diving gloves in a cold weather playoff game - maybe one of the Houston AFC Championship games? Can anyone verify?
