Surprise Rookie Standout: Damoun Patterson

He has said he ran 4:35 when he was lighter. But gained weight for his pro day at 195. He’s also said he’s down to 190 to get some of his speed back.

I thought you had to pull them off the PUP a certain date to avoid it carrying over to the regular season?

someone can chime in on this if known..

A player who finishes the preseason still on the PUP list can then be placed on the regular-season PUP list. Such players must sit out the first six weeks of the regular season. At that point, teams have a five-week window in which to allow the player to begin practicing; from the day the player begins practicing, teams have an additional 21-day window in which to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, the player must remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.

I'd think Rogers is the most likely to be losing his spot. Remember, Rogers just signed after tearing his knee up last season.
This was just one preseason game, so we should temper our expectations some. Remember last pre-season, Hunter was doing well against vanilla "UPS-driver paper or plastic" defense
Patterson seems to really want a job, he has all the tools needed to be a throw back receiver as a Steeler, good blocking, fights for the ball, runs good route's, has a fire in his game just echoes Hines Ward to me or even JuJu if you will, imagine what a defense will be thinking when you have AB, JuJu, and Patterson if he can continue to develop and grow in to a legitimate threat? Then on top of that you have Ben at QB and not to mention one of the best o-lines in the NFL, what a big year this can be for the tight ends and the backs with all of these weapons, defense's will be having nightmares about playing this offense!!!!! It has the potential to be one of the best offensive team's I have ever seen for the Steelers and I have been watching them since 1974, really excited about this offense, however the defense needs to realize the importance that it needs to be just as committed as the offense, I just don't understand how this defense is just sub par especially since they have to practice against this juggernaut of an offense you would like to think that they would realize the chance to win a championship is now I mean I can't figure it out, something on the defense has to change, maybe it's time for tough love man time to start making player's accountable for bad tackling , and just overall bad d!!!!! If the defense can somehow band together and play like a unit I don't see anything that can stop this team from winning a championship, that is my opinion on this particular team!!!!! Go Steelers!!!!

Cope, would it be incredulous that Eli gets put on the PUP list and sits out the first 6 games? There by having a player who knows the system and is then available if someone gets hurt during that time?

I think it's exactly why the Steelers signed Eli and immediately PUPed him. Timetable wise, the 9mos mark for an ACL repair puts him back on the field in October. He will be on the PUP all preseason, then can be worked out. It's on the sticky for 2018 Injury Roster on Eli's line:

Can be activated any day during preseason. If still on the PUP at the start of the season, he can not participate until after Wk 6. A 5 week window then starts through Wk 11 to activate the player. Once activated, player has 3 weeks to practice & get rostered, otherwise they must remain on the PUP for the remainder of the season. 8/1 Running on the sideline
