Suppose the Patriots were in the AFC North or West

And the Steelers lost to the Jets the last time they played. So I guess if the Steelers moved into the AFC East they'd lose an extra 1-3 games a year right? The fact is that the Steelers have a horrible record against the pats** the past decade. So does every team. Everybody talks about division rivals but that misses the point that the Steelers become rivals as well. Wouldn't the pats** in turn play the new division rivals tougher?

The Jets game was one game, look at the bigger long term picture. The Pats playing Cincy, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh on their home field every season and the extra few losses in the standings would mean the difference between getting home field and having to play in the first wildcard round in many of their seasons, and reduce their Superbowl appearances.

What if the patriots were at the bottom of the Atlantic? I'd call that a good start!

My point was that Indy dominated their division just like the pats**. Nobody has ever said to re-work the division because of them.

That's because their overall playoff record with Manning sucks at 9-10 and 1-1 in the SB while the Cheats are 21-8 in the postseason and 4*-2 in the SB. For more comparison, in the same time frame, the Steelers are 12-7 in postseason and 2-1 in the SB and the Rats are 15-8 in the postseason and 2-0 in the SB.

Here's the playoff record breakdown, by division, since 2000 when Belicheat took over:

East: 28-17, 4-2 in SBs. 21 wins were to the Pats*, or 75% of the wins. All 6 SB appearances to the Pats*.
North: 27-22, 4-1 in SBs. 55% of wins to the Ratbirds, 45% of the wins to the Steelers. 3 SB appearances for the Steelers, 2 for the Rats.
South: 17-21, 1-1 in SBs. 70% of the wins to the Colts, both SB appearances for the Colts.
West: 12-21, 0-2 in SBs. 4 wins each to the Broncs, Raiders and Chargers or around 33% each. 1 SB appearance to the Raiders and 1 for the Broncos.

Since that time, only one AFC team has logged zero playoff appearances, and that's the Bills.

If you are not smart enough to use the ignore button for something that causes so much consternation in your little mind you deserve the **** I will throw your way.

Again with the same kind of post. I gave you the template. Go ahead and use it.

Which again proves my point. The Colts are the only representative of the AFC South to make the SB. Same as NE in the East. And you are also counting the winning % after Manning left the Colts. So it's even closer than your numbers.

Again nobody said anything about reworking the division because of Manning. Maybe because he didn't do well in the playoffs. But that had nothing to do with the division which they dominated with ease for over a decade. The only reason people talk about reworking the division now is because they hate the pats** and want to scream about an easy division. The only way to remedy the situation is to gerrymander the divisions to put the pats** in with Denver, Miami, and Baltimore or Pitts. Which shows exactly how silly the argument is to start with.

Yet you keep replying, you are a glutton for punishment and not smart enough to remove yourself from a situation you don't like, either you are dumb as a brick or a masochist, I bet on the former.

Punishment. .Lol.Yeah you are handing out the punishment alright. You are good handing out insults though. I will give you that.

you keep whining like a little girl about my posts yet keep responding, what dies that say about your intellect ? Your passive aggressive manner does not work and again put me on ignore if I irritate so much but then again that shows the ability to think, something you are not known for, Your turn ace.

I think i "whined" about one of your post. That they are all the same. Then I gave you a template. At this point I am getting a kick out of your insults. Amazing the direction you will go with this. You didn't try to refute my post about your posts all being the same. You just throw out more insults. On your next post where you insult me please come up with some new material. All comedians do this.

This is the dumbest hypothetical debates I've heard on here in a while and yet another stupid Patriots thread that means ****.

I mean, maybe if the sky was green, teams like the Jets would play better. Who knows. Let's debate that.

The dynamics of divisions, where people draft, WHO they draft and when, whether they have the same quarterbacks or not would ALL BE DIFFERENT if teams somehow magically "poof" into another division 5, 10 or 15 years ago.

It's like the Butterfly Effect... way to many variables to predict how history would change in terms of wins, losses, playoff appearance and super bowls.

Cheating doesn't care about geographical divisions no matter how poorly they're layed out.

The **'s cheat. That's why they win so many games, win their division and consistently go to the playoffs. It's not rocket science. As for nobody remembering, I disagree. I think everyone will remember. I make it a point to remind every **'s fan who ever attempts to give me any **** whatsoever that I have no respect for his team and I can't understand for a moment how he/she can either. I remind the fan that nobody respects the **'s and that everyone outside of **'s fans know that they cheat. Their victories aren't considered viable and for the rest of his or her fanship they'll have to accept the fact that nobody else really respects or believes that their team can win without cheating.

Then I finish with, "Can you pass the chips?"

It turns out that **s fans really churn inside when they are told repeatedly by outsiders that nobody believes in fairy dust and Tom Brady. It eats them up inside. Sure, they put on a brave face and accuse you of being jealous, but when you simply refuse to engage them further and say you have no respect for an organization that cheats much as you have no respect for Lance Armstrong and walk away it begins to eat at them like stomach cancer.

That brings me happiness, knowing that the seed of realization that their coach and their quarterback has betrayed their trust has been planted and now a vile and toxic weed is slowly growing inside their soul.

You lack the football insight to waste time debating. Tomlin is a mediocre coach who fares extremely poorly against Belicheck and would have his lunch stolen twice a year if they were in the same division. What do you want me to say different, that Tomlin is a coaching god and would just destroy a more accomplished, smarter coach ? Brilliant. Continue trying to blow smoke up my ***, your posts all descend into a general lack of insight, Continue on young man trying to get the last word on a poster you have already said is not worth your time yet here you are once again dancing to my tune.

Belicheat did not look all that great when he was coaching the browns. I do not consider the art of perfecting cheating or taking it to a very accomplished level good coaching, it is simply cheating. Once you cheat the game means nothing. Much as the poker player that has a second deck of cards at his disposal winning in that contest is not winning it is stealing. It would be easier to just change the numbers on the score board during commercials and just as valid.

I do not think Tomlin is all that great of a coach but he is what we have. I will never use the term great coaches and apply it to belicheat. Should the opportunity come about to trade one for the other I would keep what we have as mediocre but honest is better than devious and cheating all day long.

I know multiple pats fans, I can assure you it doesn't "eat them up inside".

It does. They just don't want you to know.

I would trade Tomlin for the cheater in 2 seconds as would every NFL expert
Not ever. No Fan of any other team would take that guy. He cheats. If you have an ounce of self respect you wouldn't take him. That's like taking back a wife you know is sleeping with your neighbor. No self-respect at all...

I find it amazing how upset you get when I respond. Do you think your insults get me mad? LOL. Yet I obviously annoy you more than you me. Yet you still respond to my posts. If I am all the things you called me for responding to yours are true....what does that make you for responding to mine where you clearly are upset?
Oh by the way. Nice original post. Never seen that one before.

He took the Clowns to the playoffs what more do you want. Most wins in playoff history, most Super Bowl wins , tied , and is great at cheating something the moron Tomlin is also bad at, see his $100,000 fine when he even couldn't make it look like a mistake when he purposely stepped in front of Jacoby Jones.. Belicheck has dominated in the regular season and postseason for the last 15 years at a rate never before seen in the NFL. I could care less about cheating, Dan Rooney doesn't and he has actually been better after Spygate especially if you consider the two lucky passes the Giants caught in the 2 Super Bowls or he would have 6 Super Bowl wins. I would trade Tomlin for the cheater in 2 seconds as would every NFL expert, only some dumb Steeler fans would not make the trade.

YOU May have him. I feel sad that you are obviously demeaning the name of Hanratty with your idiotic posts. I am finished talking to you, the fact that you don't understand how game and cheating and win interact with each other is a sad reflection on your integrity and mental capacity. Have a wonderful time in your world of dishonesty and deceit.

Why would I be upset, you are the whiney vaina that keeps sa
mying you don't like my posts,I told you to put me on ignore but then again you are too stupid to reason with. You dance when I tell you to dance, you are just a little ***** who I enjoy tormenting.

Your best yet. Again. One post I said that all you post is the thing. And you don't disappoint either. You don't refute the fact either. I dont know why you think you are tormenting me. I personally would be imbarressed if I wrote the stuff you do. I haven't attack you one time. It reflects on you maturity. Anyways I have become bored with you now. So you win. Also I apologize to the rest of the board for side tracking the thread.

See how you're getting kinda emotional about this. Like it's touching a nerve way deep down inside...?

You ******* people kill me with this ****.
Look. I hate the patriots with a passion. I truly root for their plane to go down ala we are Marshall. But let's be real, they're the absolute standard when it comes to running a franchise. The division they play in doesn't mean ****. They cheat. Understood. But, to say they couldn't do what they do if they were in the afc north is ******* idiotic

THE WHOLE outcome changes, if cheating is allowed or NOT allowed. CAN't argue with that.

I wonder if I pooped today?

Inquireing minds want to know.......................... don't hold the cleveland browns in suspense,..........

Salute the nations

What the **** is "imbarresed" ? Your level of intelligence is obvious to all but please keep trying to play your passive aggressive crap which you do poorly. By the way you have goven no facts or football insight , in fact you are "imbarressing " yourself in that department, your serve.

Dude, it's probably not a good idea to call somebody out for a spelling error when you, yourself, spelled the word "vagina" incorrectly. I believe you called him a "whiney vaina." Simple spelling errors are pretty damn common on an Internet message board. You also have "goven" nothing to us either.

Really you could say the same about the 49'ers in the 80's... They were in a division with the Rams, Saints, & Falcons... all of whom pretty much sucked during that time. Not that they weren't a great team, I'm just saying it helps when your division basically sucks.

At the very least you are assured of a higher playoff seeding.

Ultimately the division a team is in does a lot to map out what kind of team they are and how they're going to compete. Pittsburgh and Baltimore benefit from being in the same division. Cinci and even Cleveland get some of that benefit as well. The fact that the AFC North is so physical means that a team has to strap up and build themselves a certain way just to survive the 6 games they have to play inside the division.

It's a pretty well known fact that defense wins championships (still true today...) and the AFC North is still one of the last bastions of good defense in the NFL largely due as much as I hate to admit it to the Ravens since the Steelers have gone and fallen in love with the offensive side of the ball and forgotten all about defense the last 5 years or so. Pittsburgh has gotten by on aging veterans but now the gas is out of the tank and the defense has pretty much gotten to a middle of the road, also-ran level.

When cincinnati is worth a ****, it's when their defense plays well. When Cleveland makes themselves remotely relevant it's when they put together a semi competitive team on both sides of the ball. But it isn't just defense that the AFC North features, it's physicality. If you aren't ready to strap it on, "rig to flip" as somebody so eloquently put it on another board, then you aren't going to survive this division. In fact, I think that's where the Steelers need to get back to the basics. They need to get a bit nastier, a bit more aggressive and physical and they need to remind the Ravens of the old days when Hines Ward was as likely to put them in the ice-tub as James Harrison.
