Because he is an experienced back up QB.. 3-2 as a starter and the games we lost we had a chance to win.. if we were a team that didnt have superbowl potential I could see dropping Landry..but we do so Dobbs will have to go unless he can play so well to force us to keep 4 QBs.

Steelers need a reliable backup, period. IMO Rudolph would need to shine in preseason to be the backup. Landry has starting experience and has won games. Yes, he has lost some, too, but I think the team is more confident in him.
Only way I see Landry gone is if Mason beats him out in preseason. And I am not talking a neck and neck competition result..

I really didnt think you had to actually answer that. It actually is very obvious the WHY we keep Jones.

I’ve never seen much out of Jones to make me think there’s a future in him. If Ben goes down we are royally ******. So why keep Jones because he won’t lose a game for us. He won’t win one either. Right now Rudolph and Dobbs have potential. I’d rather keep them on the roster and let Jones go not lose games somewhere else.
