Glad for the Chiefs, but Mahomes being named MVP is ridiculous. His play was mediocre at best. Damian Williams was the MVP. But Mahomes is the new darling of the league so it’s no surprise they gave it to him.

Super bowl Mvp is voted on by the fans, and they open the voting in the 3rd quarter. It was already decided way before his game sealing TD run

couldn't agree more, he didn't make one "wow" play, Williams was my pick as well, and should've won it.

The fans vote only counts 20%, while the other 80% comes from a panel of 16 sportswriters and broadcasters according to Google. Not trying to be a dick, just thought you’d be interested to know that.
Personally, I think letting the fans opinions factor in the decision is a bad idea. I’m sure there are quite a few that vote, but don’t know **** about football and are just voting for the guy they’ve heard the most about and aren’t being objective at all.

Mahomes is being pushed as the the anti-Kap. That's why he was picked.

I noticed that Kapernick didn't make an XFL roster either.

Williams should have been SB MVP, but Mahomes is magic, in crunch time. I could see him winning 2 or 3 more SBs before he is done. Only 24 and already has a ring. Quite impressive. Shanahan gave KC too much rope to get back in that game.

Garopollo hits a wide open Sanders in the 4th for a TD it would've been game over, but he over threw him.

Garopollo = Trent Dilfer, he can manage a game and will win if he has a great running game and defense, but don't expect him to win games for you with his arm.

and if they ran the ball, maybe KC didn't have time to comeback. Stupid decisions that cost them the game. For a team that only had to throw the ball 8 times aganst GB, they relied on JG's arm in the most critical time of the game and Shanny blew it, again.

I totally agree, they got away from running the ball, just pointing out all this JG is so great talk, he had the game in his hands and threw it away, even with SF getting away from the running game, the game was there to win and their QB blew it.

I wasn't trying to argue, just pointing out that Shanny stopped running the ball to give KC the chances they needed. If Tomlin did that, he would be castrated. That long throw was a low percentage play to complete.

I'm with you, Mostert only having 12 carries is insane.

Tomlinn has done that in games and he is NUTS.

Salute the nation

We've never had a running game like that. And Tomlin does have a HOF QB to go to that's been there done that.
You see the difference, game on the line Ben makes maybe the greatest Super Bowl winning throw in Super Bowl history, meanwhile game in his hands and Jimmy G overthrows Sanders by a good 5 yards, who was open behind the defense for a TD that puts the game out of reach.

that throw brings a tear to my eye each time I watch it. Will never get old.

Coaches have seemingly lost the ability to understand when the score is their friend and the clock is their enemy and they go after the score instead of killing clock. Sometimes they get away with it, but I don’t see how the risk outweighs the reward.

Same here, especially after the way Warner and Fitz torched our defense for what looked like maybe the Super Bowl winning score. That was an emotional rollercoaster there, then the wait for the review on that TD.

The game would not have been out of reach if Jimmy G completes the pass to Sanders...it would have put 9ers up 27-24 (with made extra point) ..but probably around 1:33 on the clock 3 TO's for KC...still think Mahomes would have gotten it done.
