Super Bowl eats,…………. What’s for supper ?

The wind chill is putting us around 0 degrees. So wifey is making chicken noodle soup with her homemade bone broth and fresh baked bread. I'm not watching the game though, enjoy it for those that are. Stay warm my friends.
It's supposed to get up to 60 here on Tuesday. I am so excited.

We are doing the easy approach Texas Roadhouse Ribs and tenders. Some friends are coming over for some table games , eats, and hopefully a Cheatriot double digit loss.

hmmmm in the 70s here today.

I'll grill some chicken

As a third bean, I use Canaille beans for a pleasing color palette.

Deer burger for the meat, home garden peppers, onion, and a bunch of other schtuff to make it taste good.

Special Note: I like my chilli with a little bite to it, but not too hot. I figure you can always add a little “spice” in your bowl if desired.

My top secret ingredient is Apricot Jelly, no shittt, one jar. Cooks in real well and gives it a nice authentic touch.

Oh yes it is. It’s a secret ingredient.

I have had many a visitor try to remake that secret ingredient from me.

Nobody has ever complained about my chilli.

Note: the jelly cooks in and it leaves NO jelly taste. The apricot gives a it a faint old school taste.

2nd Note: I’ve used honey and other flavors, but still come back to the apricot as the best.

PS

Coolie, throw your recipe up for the bean-less chili, I’ll be happy to give it a try.

I take your word, knowing it will be good.

Thanks in advance.

You want to eat Bean-less chili after Coolie throws it up ............. times must be harder than I thought .........lol

I placed an order with Penn-Mac. We’re having Isaly’s chipped ham sandwiches and a bunch of different cheeses/crackers/olives. Good wine and a roaring fire. Kid Rock at halftime and hopefully a last second heart-breaking crushing demoralizing loss for the Pats. I want to see tears.

Never heard of that. What does it do to the flavor? Sweeten it?

It’s not sweet like sugar sweet, but more like spice sweet………

The apricot is hard to explain other than it gives a faint hint of it and I relate it as the old west sort of taste.

Wagon train, chuck wagon, cowboy bean camp fire.

Maybe I shouldn’t have revealed the secret, once some find out…… they overly question it and say no-way.

I just know it’s good.

Have you tried it with both kinds of meats?

Haven't cooked for a little while ........ but the wife was nice enough to clear the kitchen before taking a friend to lunch for her birthday ...
Home ALONE
So this is what I have thrown together so far

boneless porkloin chops and red onions in a garlic sauce
parmesan/herb & dry cajun chicken wings
a couple of lamb chops
bacon and ramano cheese perogies
french onion dip & vegetables

chia seed pudding made with coconut milk, vanilla extract, honey, maple syrup, blue berries/sliced strawberries

Can you share the garlic sauce recipe? I’m a garlic freak. I grow Music garlic in my garden.

Any kind of meat works, today’s meat is deer-burger.
I’ve done cubed steak, roasts, (all beef cuts, except expensive steak), pork, all good, but I’m no expert either.

In my younger days, i experimented a lot.

Keep it on topic here, brother. Come on! No one wants to hear about this!

I’m cooking for one, but when the family was all here, it was a lot easier cooking for a mob.

There is a lot of truth in that statement “harder to cook for one than it is for an army”

No worries and if your brother in-law gets out of hand, tell him you know people that can settle him down…………..
