Sunday Ticket

Guys, get your USTVnow.com free accounts. They normally show the Ravens, but when they don't play at the same time, they show the Steelers!!

Living out of the Pittsburgh market, I'd easily spend $300 over the course of the 12 weeks or so the Steelers aren't nationally broadcast. That's $25/week. Since there are no "back home" mom and pop bars, I'm paying $5 beer plus $7-$10 for grub, then figure in the cost of gas to get there, and the incalculable price of having to share the room with Raven/*s/cowboy fans.

In addition I like being able to watch whatever game(s) may influence the Steelers playoff situation. Not what the network wants to shove down my throat.

For me it works out. For someone who can walk to the corner bar and not have to deal with jagoffs supporting other teams, probably not worth it.

Whatever the case let's hope we all have a bunch of "happy Mondays" right into February.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, although I did actually move when I threatened to cancel my service. Customer since 2006.

Got Sunday Ticket Max AND the 2017/18 NHL package for free, $10 off for 12 months, $15 off the sportspack/HBO for 6 months, and free installation at the new house. With only 12 month commitment.

Had to call in four different times; it still always depends on the individual agent you get.

I'm looking at the schedule, rationalizing if Sunday Ticket is worth it. Six of the last nine games are national (4 prime time in a row, weird). That's not including the Patriots game, which will probably be shown in most places.

I'm in the same position. It cost me more money to go to the local Steeler bar to pay for food and drinks over a couple of games with me and my wife then it does for Sunday ticket. I should call and see if they will take any off the bill though.

I used to love to do that call in and haggle them down. Good ol days. Now i dont have directv i just use the NFL sunday ticket mobile app. I wonder if i can talk them down a bit. Last year it was 200 now its 300.

I cut the cord with them this past February....after 24 years.....they tried to retain me with a monthly subscription fee of half of what I was paying but I didn't want even 85.00 bills from them. I did go streaming instead, got a free Firestick which I Jailbroke with Kodi and now the entire entertainment and sports world is opened up to me

How do you find the NFL games on Kodi?

I wait for this post every year. I have had direct tv and the sunday ticket for 7yr's now and have never paid anything for it once. Guess I'm lucky, and yes we are getting it for free again this year LOL.

Wow. That's great. Dtv has been in the *** pound business in my neck of the woods for the past three years. No deals and no promotions that don't put you into a bundle contract.

Do you just call every year and ***** until they give it up? I actually just switched to DTV since Uverse was pissing me off, so I'll be starting my free year. But I'm trying to get your deal, lol!

It takes awhile sometimes, but this year was especially rewarding. I also cancelled my AT&T mobile service (switched to Metro PCS -- very happy with them, btw) in between my third and fourth call, so maybe they thought I really meant business.

Like the Dazn in Canada. 20 a month cancel after season. Its really game pass. Not the same quality as Ticket but the playback feature will be beauty for me because I coach youth foitball for the first 8 Sundays.

.

Well... good news for me! Maybe for others?

I called in a few months ago to cancel the auto-renewal of Sunday Ticket. However, when I received my last invoice... Sunday Ticket was on it! (NOT HAPPY!) So, I called in to fix this and actually LOWER my bill (currently about $130... month-to-month... not under contract). I got the run-around on the first call and was given a 2nd number to call and a PIN number.

After a few days, I called in to see about lowering my bill (and hoping to figure out a deal to get Sunday Ticket). I spoke with a very pleasant retention-specialist and was able to LOWER my bill from $130 to $65 a month (for 12 months)... AND receive Sunday Ticket for FREE! I have a 12 month contract which means I will be in the same (not under contract) position next year... to take another run at this. WOOHOO! Go Steelers!

It has varied year to year. Calling up bitching will get you know where (well I do have a story to tell on that, which worked one year, that I will share). There were a couple of years we had terrible customer service and they messed up on our bill, so in getting that resolved we got it free. Then in other years we have either added some premium movie package(when you do this, they typically give you a discount and then we'd get the ticket for free. Then we would turn around and call to cancel the premium movie package before the discounted price went up and also said we want to cancel the ticket before they bill us for it, because is too much. Again, got it for free. Now for my calling in bitching story from one year. I recorded a Nascar race and when getting ready to watch it, it said it had been deleted by the customer. I was livid and pretty drunk, so I said I"m calling and getting the Sunday ticket out of this for free. So I'm drunk and bitching at them on the phone and nobody would budge I'm asking to speak to supervisors up the chain, well I finally get this woman (who was a real *****). I said I'm switching to Dish Network and she asked if I new dtv's return policy. I said yup and we hung up. Next morning woke up and our dtv had been shut off. So my better half called them and explained what happened and we didn't intend to cancel it right now. No problem they said we can turn it on. Then the rep said, you are now considered a new customer, would you like the sunday ticket for free...LMAO Our dtv was shut off over night for about 9 hr's, they turn it on and give us the ticket. Sometimes drunk pays off LOL.

I called to cancel my auto pay, and they offered me a discount. I declined. Looks like the Steelers are nationally televised 6x this year, not counting flex schedule, and I might get one or two regionally televised games.

If it's true what others are saying about since ATT took over they stopped the deals, that would coincide with the drop in NFL ratings and viewership. Hopefully that will bring an end to DirecTV's exclusive broadcasting rights.

Well, just got off the phone w/DTV. I was ready to cancel NFLST altogether... I'd prepared myself to not take any less-than-spectacular deals, ready to explain that today's NFL isn't what I grew up with, and that the Patriots and Goodell have ruined it all. Got a dude named Thaddeus on the phone, he asked me who my favorite team was (I was anticipating this and ready for their sales pitch). He said he, too, was a Steelers fan, living & working in New Mexico. I figured he was pulling my leg, does this bonding thing with many customers, but the dude quickly named plenty of new and old players and some details only a true Steelers die-hard would know.

Gave me the ST for $29.99/mo. for 6 months, = $179.94. SON OF A *****! I BIT! But I guess it's better than paying the full $282 price.

yeah - I just did the same and the deals aren't the same

They gave me $30 off my regular bill for a year and Sunday Ticket for $27 a month for 6 mo - $162

I don't JUST watch Steelers games like you homers, and I'm stuck with local channel Saints games otherwise....so I did it anyway

Yep same here. I'm stuck with Cowboys and Texans games every week. And I refuse to go to bars just to watch games, I prefer the comfort of home often enough that ST is worth it for me.
