Suisham Injured

Jeff Reed said he called Tomlin today about the position ha... seriously.

Sad but why was he trying to tackle the guy! Why play Suisam? Should have been playing other potential kickers.

This one is going to hurt bad unless we can pick up a dependable kicker. Please no Jeff Reed comments!:grumpy:

Rumor the steelers are looking into the rapid dry out program at the Betty Ford Hospital. Alcoholics Anonymous is looking at organizing extra chapters to be in every nfl city the steelers play in so they will be able to provide constant support for JR when away from home. Sheetz has taken the precautionary move of assigning an attendant in all their men's rooms to be sure adequate towels are ready when customers use the facilities. The Roonys have contacted the Attorney General's office about adopting a law to make it illegal to sell alcohol to known alcoholics, a data base is being developed at this time and will require an official photo ID to be presented at time of attempted purchase. Goodell is behind the initiative and believes it will curb violence against towel dispensers everywhere. The rule is being labeled as the looney rule so as to prevent drunken lunatics from endangering themselves and others.

Suisham was unemployed when the Steelers called him. I'm going to hold off on kicking the chair out from under my feet until I see who they bring in and how he performs...

I wonder if they're not looking at a young kid (or two) to bring in for a tryout, along with whatever veterans lingering out there.

Don't think any were drafted, but these guys were the top ranked kickers heading into the draft:

ps - now you know it's August for sure, if you're spending your time looking into this.... :idk:

I'm 1-for-1 at Three Rivers Stadium and 1-for-1 at Heinz Field. I've got about a 40-yard range on my field goals and can put a kick to about the 15 or so. Coach Tomlin or Coach Smith can send me a PM if interested.

Jeff Reid is available :wink-new:

Well he's right there handy anyway..

Jeff Reed has been out of the NFL since 2011, but the former Steelers kicker is still close to the game and was on hand at the Hall of Fame game on Sunday night between the Steelers and Vikings.

But the night didn't end well for the two-time Super Bowl champion who played for the Steelers between 2002 and 2010. The eccentric kicker appeared to be removed from the stadium in Canton, Ohio for being intoxicated and getting into a confrontation with another fan.

I say we give Archer a try at field goals.

He'll need to put on some weight to keep from being blown off course on windy days.

I'd add two kickers to the preseason roster, one vet and the best rookie possible.

At least the team has four games to figure it out.

@RapSheet: #Steelers kicker workouts tomorrow now Shaun Suisham is done for the season: Jay Feely, Alex Henery, and Garrett Hartley, at least.

He also carried a stigma of missing clutch kicks, and didn't carry the best of percentages...

Jay Feely is my choice....experience and I've seen him make numerous clutch kicks throughout his career. We need someone who's experienced the pressure and been there done that. We will win or lose 2 to 3 games this year because of our kicker.

Agree, just so our team could have Gay/Feely/Boykin :wink-new:
