I know it seems a little semetrical with Troy being from USC and all, but a few mocks have us taking him.

Anyone got a good scout on him?

If it happened, how long before the Bungles fans say, "See?? I told you the Steelers were craven!!"

It's the biggest hole on our squad, and he's likely to fall to us.

The ROLB issue is also pressing, but I think we are world beaters if we can fill those two positions. I also still think Senquez will be good for us.

They still play football on the west coast? Who knew

I have liked him for some time..... Only question for me is does he fit more at OLber than SS.

I was targeting him for SS. But I would have to take a closer look in the off-season to see if m opinion changes.......

25. Pittsburgh Steelers: Su'a Cravens, S/LB, USC

The Steelers are going to have a hole at one of the safety spots next year. Michael Mitchell has played well, but Will Allen is a 34-year-old impending free agent. Shamarko Thomas can't get on the field, so I'm not sure he'll be in Pittsburgh's future plans if the team can obtain a talented safety early in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Steelers could also opt to use Su'a Cravens at linebacker in a Deone Bucannon-type role.

Um, we need a corner and a pass rusher, unless you love Jarvis's 2 sacks per year.

We are not going OLB in the first no time soon. And with the way offenses are going playing a defense similar to what the Cardinals are doing with Bucannon is tempting

Some mocks are saying he would play the Polamalu role. Play safety, but able to move up into an LB position at times. Unless I have him confused with another player, but I think this is him.

ark is WRONG 99.9% of the time.
this is the .1% he's correct.
kudos, ark.

Oh yes I mean strictly a OLB pass rusher type.

Say no to Kearse. I bet he ends up a 3rd rounder when it is all said and done.
His instincts are pretty awful. The guy stays out of position.
Look at the NC game to confirm that.

Alexander is a lock down guy that can be physical in the run game.
Problem is that I be he is around 5'10" or less. Do we want another guy with that size?

So I'm thinking.

With Senquez Golson and William Gay at corner and Sua Cravens at Safety, that looks like a pretty good secondary. If we can get a quality pass rusher in the second round for the right side, we may really be onto something with this defense.

Not many guys with his height (if any) have successfully played safety in the NFL.

The real question maybe be would you trade up to get him. As we go through the draft process he is going to rise up the charts. I think he was born to wear the black n hold. Let's hope

Golson would be the slot corner, like Boykin. No guarantee that Gay comes back but, if he does, who would play outside opposite of Gay?

Kam Chancellor and Adrian Wilson are both 6 3. There are more just 2 off of the top of my head.

2 other good ones were Atwater, and Houston 2 of the best ever.

That is an assumption based on Golson's height, one that doesn't reflect his draft position, and is unfair at any rate.

Scouting report says the ONLY reason this guy wasn't a top 15 pick is because of his height. I think he can start outside.

I think this hits home the idea of "not many."

He would play up like Troy anyway, so range would not be so much a factor. Most of his coverage responsibilities will be in open space and he's got plenty of closing speed. You might need great hips as a FS trying to chase the QBs eyes, but a SS plays in a very limited area in our system. He'll have half the field to cover at most, usually less than that.

You can always move Mitchell to SS, if you like someone at FS more.

I think Mitchell would fit better there but who knows. That would be like breaking in two spots in the secondary, besides who starts out at corner.

Which we know will be some new faces.

Overall if they draft a S I would rather it be a SS which would take us back to Su"a. With him he is a playmaker. I haven't seen enough tape to see how he plays the TE. Which would be a deal maker or breaker for me.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
