By Jessica Costello SteelerNation.com Injury after injury plagued the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, and while all eyes have been on Ben Roethlisberger‘s recovery, another key player has been in recovery. Stephon Tuitt had his own season-ending injury. The defensive lineman suffered a pectoral injury against the Los Angeles Chargers. The injury threw him on the […]

GREAT topic Jessica and thank you for the write up.

Tuitt is one of those players that seems to make you think....... How long till the next game missing injury? His play has been very high when on the field but you can't make plays when not on the field. We need him for the entire season as paired with Heyward, they are amazing.

Salute the nation

No doubt, Tuitt has the tools to be one of the best but damn, can he be healthy for a complete season? I'm optimistic on his approach, but patience is weighing thin!!!!!

With Hargrave on the out, Tuitt will need to stay healthy. Can't help us in the hot tub.

Slash I really wish there was a way to keep Hargrave. I hate losing him he’s been solid and consistent and wish Tomlin would have incorporated him into the defense more. I’d rather keep him and get him more involved using more 3 DL than overpaying for Bud which looks like they will do with franchise tag. That’s me though and sure I’ll take heat for that.

There is a way to keep him, but I think it would handcuff bringing in bigger needs in free agency. I still think health wise he is safer than Tuitt. But I don't see the Steelers trading Tuitt with his decent sized cap hit.

I was wondering if and when they tag Bud, can they trade him then with the tag affixed to him? I hate tying up 16 million in Bud.

Put the right tag on him sure. Problem is you damn better well snag a pass rusher/OLB in free agency as they have next to nothing at depth.

The thing with Tuitt's injuries to consider is, that while frustrating, is it due to lack of prep on his part (aka, woodley), the way he plays, or just **** *** luck. I suspect it has just been **** *** luck. Not much can be done about that but stay on fundamentals and keep taking care of the body. It can happen to anyone.

They can tag him now. Last day to tag is just before the start of FA. Should be about March 10th. Not sure if it slid back when they slid the start of the date to tag.
