By Justin McGonigle www.SteelerNation.com While the most popular news of the day will be that the Steelers have basically fired offensive coordinator Randy Fitchner, the team made more coaching changes today. The team announced via it’s web site that they will not be renewing the contracts of Defensive backs coach Tom Bradley, and offensive line […]

Tom bradley was never the issue here... thise dbs did fine this year

considering the dbs ranked third in pff (https://Invalid Link - Check SN Hom...s-secondary-ranked-3rd-in-nfl-by-pff-in-2020/) this makes total sense... /s

It just seemed to me that Edmunds just never grew as a safety and was just out of position and always took bad angles to the RB. Not entirely the coaches fault, but the entire defensive backfield suffered as a result. The rest of the group seems pretty good.

I thought the DB's improved under Bradley.

Layne didn't develop. One could debate the two starting DBs didn't have as good of seasons as last. Sutton played well and Hilton had moments but still was weak in coverage. Mink played well but not as good as last year. Edmunds played ok at times struggled with bad angles in coverage at other times. I think overall their play could have been better.
Did the DB's improve under Bradley? Or did the Steelers bring in better DB's whilst Bradley was here?

Gotta cut the head off the snake. Art the piece of deuce needs to go. His agenda is going to be the downfall of this team. It’s actually a microcosm of America.

Teryl Austin had his hand in the DBs as well. I would’ve liked to have seen him promoted to DC-but it looks like they’re going to keep Butler in place

I think Teryl Austin would have wanted to be the guy calling stuff at DC... you know Tomlin doesn't want that so Butler staying put is the easy move.

I think a little of both. I mentioned elsewhere that Tombert realized they couldn't draft DB's for **** so they started trading and signing veterans instead.

Go back the last decade and you tell us who they should have drafted instead

Don't know, don't care. What matters is that they wasted draft picks on several players who didn't pan out. I suppose there are All-Pro DB's who were drafted by other teams though.
