Steelers ran 4 wides, empty sets, lot of focus on isolating and splitting the TE (mostly Vance McDonald) out wide this year. Going to use the receiver depth to their advantage, attack the field horizontally and vertically, and test the depth of defenses. Should be a lot of fun.

My two and a half cents:

Steelers fans can argue a drop off losing the type of talent the Steelers did at RB and WR, but the Steelers did a masterful job of restocking at the positions. Not only did they draft a running back and a receiver, they brought a wide receiver in during the free agency period as well. Not to forget Diontae Spencer who they picked up in the offseason from the CFL. There is also under the radar ex-raider wideout Johnny Holton trying to squeeze out a spot. So you have pretty much 8 wide receivers vying for more than likely 6 spots. A person can assume Vance "the manimal" McDonald, Juju, and James Conner will have plenty of receiving opportunities. Ditto Jaysam. After that the picture gets a little murky. Who will start where and how the ball gets distributed is yet to still be determined. One thing fans can be happy about is there isn't a lack of options. That should help ease the loss of one ex Steeler who was filled with hot air way before his balloon ride camp entrance .Switz Army knife and Eli Rogers have to know the numbers are tight in regards to who the Steelers keep at the position. So for a combination of everything mentioned, there should be some damn good competition taking place. How many good corners does a team have 2 to 3? Good luck defending this rich in wide receiver depth NFL, Steelers will be no push over

meine unbedeutende Meinung

Fichtner has lots to work with. AB saw a lot of opportunities in his offense and those opportunities will just be spread around to a group of players now. Hopefully D Moncrief and V McDonald will lead the group and sprinkle in the rest of the receiving corps and the RBs. I have more confidence of us fielding a balanced team this year then I did at the start of last year. It is great to have elite talent on a team but I think winning as a group in all 3 phases is more fun to watch and more satisfying as a fan. I want to see Boswell return to form and Diontae Spencer taking one to the house. Let me witness Devin Bush get lost in a sea of Steeler tacklers converging at the ball carrier. Mix in some OL pancake blocks and a 3 headed RB monster making holes that aren't there. Yes sir that all sounds good for a promising year.

Gute Meinungen sind immer wichtig

Moncrief should help stabilize the hole, and who knows how long it will take DJ to take form but even on the interview with Kurt Warner, Ben conceded to trying not to do too much and to get the ball out into the hands of playmakers and let them do the work. So yeah without the bitching, and whining, and the constant mememe bullshit Ben should be able to focus in on just spreading the ball around. Which in the past when he does that, good things.

Looks like Holton had a little setback, but it does read minor.

It's herpes I hate hearing about.

Dare I say, it sounds like the Steelers are running the Patriot's offense this year?

An interesting point to ponder. We lost our best playmaker in Brown and our best deep threat in Bryant. What we have now is Ju-Ju, and a bunch of guys without deep speed ( sub 4.4 ) or size ( 6'4 or taller at WR )

Brady makes the New England offense work, with pinpoint timing an accuracy. While Ben is a decent drop back and throw quarterback, it's his other skills that made the offense go.

I think the OC should target the backs and tight ends a bit more this season.

The biggest question to me is can Ben turn Moncrief into a really good player and deep threat? If he can, the offense has lots of options.

And I think I'll start w/ the Dobel Tequila now...

Do you realize Donte Moncrief ran an unofficial 4.35 at his combine? And Diontae Spencer ran a blazing 4.27 at his McNeese State pro day? Moncrief is already known as a good deep guy in the NFL, and JuJu already has two 97 yard TDs in his 2 years in the NFL, so your post is nonsense.

And how long have we been without Bryant? Good God man, you're obtuse or just plain not up to speed.

So, Alex says the Steelers are going to attack the field, both horizontally and vertically? You mean, that's something new? I also read they are going to run AND pass block this year. I like how everyone forgets Washington. I haven't. He's gonna be huge.

Didn't you throw this out already once?

Anyways nobody is forgetting Washington. He is a wait and see prospect. We are cautiously optimistic that he will be better. Just how much better is a fair unknown.

It is an unknown. He showed flashes in the preseason last season and that was great, but he disappeared in the regular season. He showed signs of improvement at the end, but again and like you said, it is still a fair unknown.

I hope like hell he does break out because I'm really rooting for the person. Great kid.
