Can’t soul-search when you have an owner who’s mentality is still stuck in the 1990’sExactly my point..,
The Steelers need to really do some soul-searching on how they’re doing things across the board..

You show up just to argue stupid ****.. just **** off already.I mean are you arguing against me or for me? Nothing you said is going against anything I said, but I feel like that wasnt your intention based upon your first sentence. So either you dont understand context or you need to do a quick rundown of the comments so you can know who you really need to be replying to (because its not me) and stop jumping in the middle of conversations.
Whether or not Dan Moore "took it upon himself" to start practicing on the right side of the line is irrelevant for 2 reasons.
1) he was a 4th rd pick playing like a 4th rd pick and the Steelers had just drafted a tackle in the first rd so he knew his days were numbered no matter what.
2) regardless of whether he stated or not he took it upon himself to practice on the right coaches still have to put who they think is better suited to protect their QBs blindside and clearly the coaching staff thought Dan Moore was better at the time rather than the 1st rd reach who was a project.
***** stfu. You act like im one that started the topic. You cant handle the truth just say that. You mad because im making your boyfriends look stupid?? Foh.You show up just to argue stupid ****.. just **** off already.

The general rule is you don't weaken 2 spots. Jones should have played his natural LT spot and Moore and whoever should have fought it out for RT.I mean are you arguing against me or for me? So why havent you killed yourself by now since you one??i just cant handle retards.
1) The coaching staff was in a conundrum because of Okorafor's bad play. You say make Jones the LT no matter what, but the reality is that the Steelers had hoped he never saw the field at all in his rookie season. Furthermore, Jones had far more experience at The RT position (almost half his collegiate games) then Moore (1 start in college and no starts in pros). No I'm replying the right *******. Everything you post, comes across as narcissistic, know it all, and absolutely prickish...
1. Even Moore knew that Jones should have been the LT from the start. You don't trade UP in the draft for a LT like that and move him, no matter what the circumstances were. Tomlin did everything he could to keep Moore on the field at LT. He went to the press, he avoided giving him reps, and made comments like the one I stated above.
2. You are really resting your argument on whether or not the previous coaching staff put players in the best positions to succeed? They were constantly miscasting players and putting them in unnatural positions that didn't fit their skillset. They started TJ on the right and Bud on the left, and when they FINALLY gave in and switched, both took off. They had Dotson at the wrong guard spot, trade him away for peanuts, and he goes on to be an all-pro. We can go on and on with players being played out of position with the previous staff.
3. Dan Moore was NEVER better than anyone, and Tenn is finding that out the hard way. They gave him that sizeable contract and now he's showing that fanbase what Steeler fans knew all along...NOT STARTING material.
What made Jones such a good prospect, project or not, was his athleticism. It is how he was successful at the college level, he was more athletic that the guys he went against. He needed REAL coaching on technique, but even a raw SUPER athletic LT was better than Moore. He was slow, and struggled with technique, two very bad combinations, especially for a LT.
Jones stepped in against the Ravens and outplayed Moore, and should never have given the spot up. But Tomlin and his loyalty ****** that all up. He absolutely screwed up Jones development.
The general rule is actually you go with the lesser of two evils. I understand your point, but once again I ask everyone who is trying to downplay the Okorafor bad play and Fautaunu injury who would you have you played on the rt side?? Out of all the people who have responded to me and upvoted the comments of people opposed to my view no one has answered that question. The general rule is you don't weaken 2 spots. Jones should have played his natural LT spot and Moore and whoever should have fought it out for RT.
You continue to spout off with opinion as fact. Continue to be the prick you always have been I guess...1) The coaching staff was in a conundrum because of Okorafor's bad play. Furthermore, Jones had far more experience at The RT position (almost half his collegiate games) then Moore (1 start in college and no starts in pros).
2) Whether you think Jones was better than Moore or vice versa for the LT position is irrelevant. The point is Moore cant play the right side and you have no other options...and when they drafted Fautaunu hoping he would fix the Right side they were forced to play Jones there again when he got hurt.
3) to say Jones development was ruined by playing RT is ludicrous. He played both positions significant games in college. You guys are trying to override the fact that you knew that he was a reach to begin with, but the reality is the Steelers drafted him as a OT not a left or right tackle specifically and no one is willing to admit it. Jones athleticism couldn't override his ability to play RT or LT. He was never really good at either in the pros, because he's just not good period. Jones is not the first, or last player whose college game doesnt translate to the pros. It is what it is. It was a bad pick from the beginning. When they didnt get one of the tackles they really wanted before him they should have left off from considering the pick.
4) Players enter into the NFL all the time and play out of the position they didnt play in college and excel. You can expect that with two of the upcoming draft picks...Daylen Everette who played CB is likely to be switched to safety and Gennings Dunker who played tackle will be switched to Guard. This happens ALL THE TIME. Why you guys are getting your panties in a bunch and acting like its some malpractice that took place is beyond me.
To add to the fact that circumstances occurred (Okarafor bad play, Fautaunu injury) that forced the coaching staff hand i think have to be some lenient, if not more understanding dont you?
Can't handle the truth. Deal with it. You cant point out one lie told in my comments. Sorry you were breastfeeding into your teens and cant handle adversity to a thought you have. Not changing my position because you got your panties in a bunch Karen. You continue to spout off with opinion as fact. Continue to be the prick you always have been I guess...
Cmon man let’s not advocate people killing themselves. How would you feel if someone in your life did that to themselves after you threw that at them?So why haven't you killed yourself by now since you one??
He said he cant handle retards? So i gave him an option. I guess I could have gave him the suicide hotline number so you right. I'll recant my statement.Cmon man let’s not advocate people killing themselves. How would you feel if someone in your life did that to themselves after you threw that at them?
I think that just crosses a line that we shouldn’t..

If that's the case you would already be gone.i live to spite you.. To eradicate all imbeciles from the site..
Not true about Jones experience. All his college starts were at left tackle and he played a total of 36 snaps at right tackle, although he did practice on both sides at college.1) The coaching staff was in a conundrum because of Okorafor's bad play. Fine. I stand corrected on his level of experience at right tackle. That being said the article Im assuming you read from also said he had the second best overall grade among rookies (PFF though for FWIW) and the Steelers ran for 150 yards in all his starts when he took over for Okorafur so it wasnt an egregious move. Not true about Jones experience. Colbert didn't draft 1 LB in round 1 with Cowher, with Tomlin they drafted a LB in the first round 6 times in 12 drafts, including trading up to the top 10 for one. Anyone that watched could see they were trying to use ILB's to cover WR's, those aren't hard dots to connect. Its nice to speculate without facts huh?
To be honest with you I dont what youre talking about when you say the Tampa 2 uses lbs to cover WRs. You're going to have to provide links to either video or a coach that ran the Tampa 2 to validate that claim. Using LBs to cover receivers seems ridiculous (unless its short yardage only or corner blitz package every red moon, but then that could be any defense not just the tampa 2) and not something I've seen on a regular from the Steelers or any other team.Colbert didn't draft 1 LB in round 1 with Cowher, with Tomlin they drafted a LB in the first round 6 times in 12 drafts, including trading up to the top 10 for one. They fired Donahoe in 1999 because he didn't go with the guy the HC wanted.
Not a stretch to think the HC with a Tampa 2 background is wanting LB's.
It seems really ridiculous agreed, but did you not watch us trying to cover WR's with ILB's here for years? Bostic getting embarrassed over and over again, Keenan Allen catching like 15 passes while Sean Spence and Vince Williams are trying to cover him over and over again, name the NE WR, Timmons puking in the Miami endzone trying to cover WR's.To be honest with you I dont what youre talking about when you say the Tampa 2 uses lbs to cover WRs. The Steelers obviously aren't looking for middle Lbs in the draft at all if Ryan Shazier doesnt get hurt and I havent seen you or anyone else reference that. Bush was a reach because they realized how much they lost at that position when he went down. Bush had decent speed and was formidable prior to his injury, but he really couldn't duplicate what Shazier was. The Steelers struggled with finding a true hybrid who can cover TEs (not receivers) and play the run. Your biggest foe at the time was the team with the best TEs...not receivers. Cowher didnt have to deal with Gronkowski and Hernandez (or Kelce if you want to throw him in there)... Tomlin did. So you're off in my opinion in what Colberts or Kahns (not Tomlin...he's not the GM) intentions were with drafting these LBs.
When's the last time the Steelers have been successful in drafting a LB who could cover TEs? Typically the Steelers have been stuck with LBs who can play the run but not be very affective in the pass. They thought that Queen could fit that bill, but hes been a dissapointment.
I'll never put more blame on any coach in drafting then a GM unless the coach or organization says he was the one doing it (ala Patriots and Giants, etc). If Tomlin had more say then Colbert in the drafts they could have just come out and said it. What difference would it have made?
Do you believe Kevin Colbert is a HOF GM?? If you believe that then that answers your question imo. Teams will do crazy stuff in the shadow of greatness no matter how ludicrous it sounds or looks after their twilight years have left. A 42, 43 year old Aaron Rodgers up until a week or two ago was allowed to lead this team around on a leash for the last 2 seasons. Its been 3 or 4 years since his last real run but they believe he still has it in him.It seems really ridiculous agreed, but did you not watch us trying to cover WR's with ILB's here for years? Tomlin first draft pick was an ILB, long before Shazier.
They're not going to come out and say it because failed draft picks can't be pinned on anyone person. You don't think them firing GM donahue and keeping Cowher gives you a hint who they wanted to have more say? I highly doubt they fired Donahue then brought in Colbert and said you're making the picks, not the HC.
So you think Pickett was a Colbert pick? They're going to allow the GM who is retiring in a month make the pick of the guy that's supposed to lead the franchise for the next decade, instead of the HC (who is the longest tenured in the NFL, highest paid at the time) they're not going to let him make that pick?
