I always will. These games mean nothing. The Steelers have been mediocre for years. There is a whole new staff, which means Steelers football will look different this season than it did under the last regime. I was here during the 80's, I'm not new. All I know is, I'm glad that there is finally a different idea on how to move forward. That all. No more, no less. I know Allar is out there against guys who won't be in the league. He still has upside.

The players that look great tonight can be terrible next week; they're playing the young players. Pre-season is what it is, a chance to look at guys and decide who can contribute not only this year but in the future. The only person I know should find his life's work is Mason. In no way is he worth keeping over those 2 kids on his best day. Other than that, I expect McCarthy to keep who he thinks are the best player because he has no loyalty to anybody. Which is exactly what we needed.

He actually couldn't be playing any better. Good decisions. Nice arm. Both he and Howard have shown enough so far that you keep them both this year and draft another next year. That could change for both of them next game.

It can, it's pre season and there are a lot of backups on the field. But they have upside, that's why you keep them and develop them with an offensive minded HC and a veteran QB who doesn't mind working with them.
