Steelers vs Oakland game thread

Hope Ben doesn't have plantar fascitis from his foot bending like that...hurts like a ***** and takes forever to heal

All I can say is, "refs can eat a bag of dicks. Oakland is for real. D played....but wasn't great. Thank God we picked up DeAngelo, and AB is hands down the best receiver in the NFL". Hope Ben is just banged up and back within two weeks.

The interior of our D was very shaky

Who was playing NT??

Timmons and Shazier were getting blocked easily

I thought that was Shazier's worst game as a pro. He was over pursuing and swallowed up by blocks all game long. Honestly, Spence needs to get more reps in his place through out games.
Another observation, what the hell kind of scheme is Butler trying to run with Timmons on their WR? I think Butler has done a great job most of the year but that one was just mind boggling.

No Ben No chance. Have you seen the rest of the season?

The problem with the scheme is that it has been on film for weeks now. Teams have seen it over and over

If Timmons is going to be on the WRs, he needs to get a jam on them within the 5 yards to slow them down. He allowed Crabtree to run right past him.

Worse, he turned his back to him almost as soon as Crabtree released.

That's part of the scheme he is trying to not give the defense coverage away too soon by staying in the middle of field until the ball is snapped. It's not fooling anyone anymore. We have been running it and slight variations of it since week one

We're in desperate need of a new NT, it's been a huge gap there all season long. That's the last piece this defense is missing.

I saw 'The Tree' playin quite a bit today, especially inside the red zone. I think they move McClendon out to end when McCullers comes in. As long as Thomas stays on the bench, I'm good with it...let um learn. I never considered McClendon a good choice for NT anyway. He doesn't play that bad but he's still not dominant in the middle and I've never seen him beat a dbl team.

Blake played better but he still can't stay with anyone on a double move and the rest of them seem to take turns lettin' people roam free. I also agree with Super Dave, the middle was there for any receiver that could hold on to the ball.

I don't care who returns kicks, if they don't start blocking somebody it's never gonna get better.

Good game though, second one in a row as far as entertainment goes...they seem to be learning on the OJT principle and the win only makes it better. More gooder than I expected anyway.

Prayers for Ben, go Landry, no Dogboys allowed.

GO STILLERS

All of those fancy schemes with LBs covering receivers work if you get pressure on the QB, which did not happen all day today. Either Oaklands OL is great, or the Steelers need to look at better pass rushers.

No pressure on the QB, late blitz does nothing and we still try it. A win is a win but this team under Tomlin is hard to understand.

What I dont understand is how we shut AZ and Cinci down, but yet let KC and OAK destroy us. I mean Oak had been playing well coming into the game, but so had AZ and Cinci. KCs offense is just not that good....
