Thank God football is really back

first half was sloppy as hell

OL did ok in pass protection but were not opening any running lanes

defense was better than I thought, other than the ****** coverage on the TD pass,

I would have sworn the DL was subpar but the falcons only had 24 yards rushing at the half...

Heyward knocking down passes and Highsmith and Watt both with sacks. Brisker with the gift int, but at least he caught it....

DK just shoving DBs out of the way, not sure why he thinks that is legal, Wilson was finally a weapon but really should have caught that ball in the endzone

2nd half was just as sloppy...will DK actually catch a pass? will the refs call a PI for him???? inquiring minds want to know

offense is out of sync, drops (mainly DK) no run blocking some questionable play calls...gotta get it together

way too many rushing yards for atlanta in the second half. bad tackling - Herbig hit the RB hard in the backfield but failed to finish and off he went....gotta do better

Watt with a huge 2nd half...another sack a big TFL and a pick 6....one man wrecking crew for a little while today

Highsmith with a good game, Heyard with the hat trick of patting down passes

58 rushing yards is not going to be good enough, the OL needs to get it together and open some holes. not a great passing day but DK's drops really hurt that part of the offense. it was good to see wilson make a few plays and pittman as well. Freiermuth had a good day with 5 catches and a TD and Washington with 2 big catches late

Special teams needs to be better - gave up too many yards on returns and really did not do a lot when receiving the ball.

good thing they were playing cooper rush led falcons

over all sloppy as hell, but a win is a win..

An ugly win, but if some catches and obvious pass interference calls are made, the complexion of the game is a lot different.

Two potential long TDs to Metcalf were negated by uncalled interference and a drop. Roman Wilson probably needs to catch that ball in the endzone, though it was a tough play with the way he came to the ground.

The run defense might have been a bit soft, but Robinson is a great back behind a good line.

Cannot criticize the defense too much when both the Steelers touchdowns were either directly or indirectly caused by them.

A win is a win. Reality is…….thats it’s definitely good we played a team like Atlanta. There were more positives than negatives.
And of course I would never freak out after game one anyways. It is concerning that we only put up 13 points in offense against Atlanta. There was definitely some rust. Let’s hope that was DK’s worst performance this season. Like it or not….we need him. By the way……he played like that in Seattle as well. It was just that his highlight reels would go national. Not his everyday play.

Obviously TJ and Cam were the guys. Alex had a huge sack. I thought Brisker and Dean played well. Robinson is a premium back. He will always get his yards. My biggest shock was our missed FG! While I heard a few “ our OLine is putrid “ comments. I thought they played well. Rodgers dropped back 40 times and never faced that much pressure.

I’ll take an opening season win any day.
First place AFC North baby!

1. The NFL focus is clearly not DPI this year.

2. Clearly the starting offense needs to play a bit in next year's preseason
3. TJ- ty!
4. Trade JPJto Detroit
5. Defense different under Graham!
6. Oline played better than expected.
7. Except Cook
8. I was right in about 70% on guessing R or P for our offense vrs 99.9% last few years.
9. DK can only get better.
10. Max got his feet wet. Not a bad thing

DK is a mental case. We screwed the pooch with that signing unless he takes his head out of his ***. I don’t think he really wants to play football. Why do we always get lunatics as wideouts?
They should have cut DK last year when they had a chance to void his guaranteed salary.

He's a great talent, but it seems his focus and hands will never be consistent enough to be a legit WR1.

Though he is being paid like it, he doesnt necessarily have to be that guy for the offense to cook, as he has Pittman across from him this year.

It was all on him last year, and he wont be as bad as he was today most of the season.

It was probably his worst game as a Steeler, obviously excluding the one where he punched a fan.

Defense:
Run defense was not great but had enough moments.
Pass Rush was good.
Coverage was good but not playing a top 32 QB.
Offense:
Pass protection was very good.
Passing game was like run defense. Had moments but was not great.
Run blocking was poor. Running backs hard to judge when blocking poor.
Specials: gave up kick returns, missed one long FG. Had a decent return to start game.
Coaching : didn't like the call that pushed them to edge of FG distance and missed. Need a quicker hitter. That puts you up 10 with about 7 min left. Rest was pretty standard.
Overall it was exactly what I said. Can't win game and they played worse the I expected. wins a win.

I think we actually shut down Remeirsera on a Monday night against the bills back in the 90s maybe?

Yes, it's early, got it. So why are other NFL teams showing great passing plays with receivers running open and giving the QB time to throw?

The non-PI calls on DK and Wilson changed the game completely.

Cannot take a freaking sack on the opponent's 30-yard line, A-A-Ron!

Gotta get that offensive line figured out. Fix that, you fix a host of problems.
I think not snapping the ball with one second on the play clock every play may help a bit.

As expected, being most of the starters first in game action, it looked like a preseason game.
Liked the way they spread the ball around on offense; both to receivers and all areas of the field.
The Metcalf era can't end soon enough.
Defense looks good and seems to have good depth most everywhere for the first time in awhile.

Watt joins Peppers as the only players ever in the NFL to record 100 plus sacks and 10 ints. Congrats!!!!!

That is awesome! Beats his brother and the eagles guy who went to green bay. At something ! Minister of defense. **** can't remember and refuse to look it up
