I thought it was a good watch. Gets me in the training camp mood for Thursday’s visit.

It really sucks that I can't get excited for the upcoming season. I'm looking forward to the Ireland game a bit, mostly because I love European fans and how they celebrate during games. For those of you not completely jaded by the head football coach, good on yinz! Go Stillers!

I try to separate the two it isn’t easy!

Well they are undefeated
Now you sound like a Browns fan. Every year they look forward to this time of year because they can bask in the glow of an undefeated season. That feeling always seems to go away for them real quickly.

I enjoyed the preview; but yinz know I'm always optimistic...
Optimism is fine out of the gates and a welcoming approach. I do believe there is better talent on the roster. Just a matter of what is done with it.

I think they upgraded a lot of positions.
QB, RB, TE, DL, CB are all better on paper with additions this offseason.

OL is potentially upgraded if the four young starters improve.

Safety is the only significant downgrade, potentially ILB as well depending on what we get from Holcombe.

I still don't know what to expect from the WRs. DK is a better all-around WR than Pickens, but Pickens did some special things on the field. The rest of the depth chart is pretty weak.

Thanks for the preview Slash, it was good. Always enjoy listening to Charlie!
Yep, I’m optimistic but cautiously optimistic since I've seen how so many of these seasons turn out under this current leadership.
I hope they can make it the playoffs and at least win a game. Idk though! Never been a big fan of Rodgers and now at 41 what does he have left? Can the OL keep him upright? We shall see!

Looking forward to seeing the reports. I have been planning on going to Latrobe this year to watch for a day but it's looking unlikely. I would love to see Rodgers passing ability in person and to see a QB of his stature in a Steelers uniform. I don't care about his extra curricular activities. I care about his ability to be 41 and to be an effective QB in this league.

I think they will have better sub package play on the defense Three starter Capable Corners. If you line Ramesy at the nickle with Elliot in the box you won't really have to worry about run support without Minkah. You have a better run edge rotational with Sawyer allowing Herbig to rotate on passing. You have a coveted true nose in the Iowa Rook. You have a three man inside rotation with Queen, Wilson and Holcomb depending on the offenses deployment. But as always it will depend on Offense output and injury. Their starting depth chart should be competitive with just about anyone. Hopefully some of that defensive depth will help. Depth and coaching have been the undoing last too many years. Go Steelers!
P.S. Iron sharpens Iron. They need to have the offense be competitive with a defense that if it's not at least top 10 every coach connected including the the HC should be fired. They will not obviously. But they should.

I like SS I just have issue with FS and I think WR behind DK will be less of an issue with Smith. But yeah they could use a few more players to try to fortify depth…

I think they are angling that Ramsey can act as a FS in certain formations. I tend to believe that myself.

I think it'll still be a relatively significant issue if the Steelers want to achieve their goals.

Smith's offense has only finished in the top 15 twice in yards, points, and passing TDs. Both years were with the Titans when AJ Brown and Corey Davis were the 1-2. Davis never really panned out, but he was a top-5 pick. If the Steelers want to have anything other than a middle-of-the-pack offense they'll need Austin/Wilson to take a massive leap or have a monster season from their RBs. With that said, the overall offensive personnel is better and I think they should be a little more consistent, but a lot of that hinges on Rodgers.
