No, it didn't happen, but what was your gut reaction when you read that? Sure it would depend a lot on what was given up and stuff like that. Put that aside. Was your very first gut reaction.....

Hell Yes! I love it. Guy is a stud and steelers need to land a franchise QB. Doesn't matter what you pay so long as you get the right guy.

**** No!!! I'm not sure he's even worth pick 20. Trading up is insane!

Holy ****! I'm scared but kind of excited too. If the Steelers traded up then I will trust their evaluation, at least for now.

#2

And that is exactly what it would be a pile of if they so chose to move up to 5 to get a 2nd round QB.!

We are so close to fielding a potential "make wave in play-offs" team that that cernario would negate all that has been accomplished to point.

Stay the course, draft the 3 big needs positions and look to next year to make that kind of move.

I would be pissed. Pissed because that means they reached and ignored the warning signs. Last time that happened they drafted Jarvis. There is not a QB in this class that warrants a trade up. I know they will get pushed up I get that, doesn't mean we have to be the dummies that take part.

First reaction was a sinking feeling from my heart to my stomach.

That'd be a lot to give up, but if he's gonna be our guy I'll be 100% behind him.

I ***** and moan until they are a STEELERS player then I embrace them.

exactly this.

I think that if they draft the Malik - wannabe a poor man's Lamar - QB in any of the first 3 rounds then they wasted that draft pick. Why draft a 6'1 QB in the first round who played in the FBS independent? Maybe he's gonna be good but how would you ever really trust that?

I saw a mock earlier that had us trade up to 12 to draft Ridder. I laughed out loud

Thats just it… not one qb whose best attributes were an inaccurate but strong arm and great running abilities have ever won a super bowl? Right? I mean there are guys who are accurate and mobile who have, but literone of the biggesand most consistent criticisms of willis is he cant read a complex defense yet… that is a guy you throw a second or third round pick at… not a first and definitely not a high first…. Tge al davis raiders used to draft guys on pure arm strength… we should not follow that model lol…

Just say no to Kordell 2.0…. And this draft is chalk full of Kordell s and mayfields…

Like I’ve been saying… if you want a developmental prospect trade back in the first to pick up another second and get ridder… cheaper price, better at reads, strong arm… great legs, more size… not as fast or as strong as willis, but this isn’t the olympics…

**** no! There are no QB's in this draft worth giving up the kind of picks we would have to to move up that far. If he falls to 20 and they love him, then fine, pull the trigger. Otherwise, draft someone else. We will be in a better position in a year or two with better QB options to move up and get an even better QB prospect.

"None of these QBs are first rounders, wait until next year when the class is better"....did I do the narrative right? I've literally heard this exact phrase come from so many different Steelers fans it's like a propaganda narrative that has been welded into the brain. Usually stated as an absolute fact without contextual foundation. So it makes me wonder if it's an actual opinion based on study, or if it's simply what they've heard from the beginning of this draft class solidification. I wish I was as certain about anything as some Steelers fans are about this class of QBs

someone is just stirring the pot,
Willis has all the skills to be a better version maybe not as fast as Lamar but an effective passer to run a rpo out of the pistol.
Both have cannon arms like jow Lamar sat for a year until they built an offense around him, Willis can fine-tune his accuracy and reading nfl coverages.
I really liked Ridder from the time the season ended but no way is he a round 1 that mocks have him going r in the past 5 days, he is early round or mid-round 2, great attributes size, arm, and perfect for the rpo and Canada's motion offense. I think with the Commanders getting Wentz even at how streaky he is they will take a skill set player over Willis. The saints have to much cash invested in 2 mediocre QB's and I see them going for Corall later as they have plenty of holes.
I easily see with the recent QB moves made both Willis and Pickett falling however I feel MT wants Davis more than Willis now him falling to 20 will be tough and with Tuitt future and contract situation entering the final year it may be best to trade up for Davis from his highlight film and combine even for a massive guy I think he like Ngata can be a 3 down player.

I don't have anything against Willis, but it would be a terrible move. We got rid of our 2nd, 4th, and 5th WR i don't even know who we have behind DJ and Claypool right now. Drafting a QB with no WRs, a bad Oline, and a horrible offensive coordinator just sets him up for failure. Also we would have to give up other picks which we desperately need. So far i think our offseason has been alright, but both lines are still a big unknown, our WR core is almost non-existent, and still need secondary help. Reaching for a iffy prospect when we have large gaps elsewhere would put the team behind a couple years. Even if Willis is a good pro QB he would struggle with our current team. We would have to switch to a run heavy ball control offense. I don't see canada or Tomlin going for that. 2 TE sets, 2Wrs lots of QB roll outs to give Willis run/pass option may work, but do not think we would ever implement that
