The Pittsburgh Steelers have been stuck in quarterback purgatory ever since Ben Roethlisberger decided to retire after the 2021 season came to a close. The organization's succession plan for Roethlisberger was essentially non-existent, and that set the franchise back years as the team is still trying to recover from it. The franchise has gone the veteran route at the position over the last several seasons as Aaron Rodgers is set to be the starter in Pittsburgh for the second consecutive season, but he has already announced that he is going to be retiring after the 2026 season. The Steelers have two young players at the position fighting to earn a chance to be the next starter in Pittsburgh.
