Steelers sign vet RB Wendell Smallwood

Very odd signing given the young depth behind Conner. Though, not a bad idea to get a veteran RB into camp just in case you need to bring him back later on.
 
He joins James Conner, Benny Snell, Jaylen Samuels and fourth-round pick Anthony McFarland in the Steelers backfield.

lol they don't even mention Kerrith Whyte
 
With the expanded practice squad I'm sure a few of them will be landing on it.
 
I dont know if Conners immune system is still low due to him having cancer a few years ago, but if so, I would think he would opt out. at lest he would have a legit reason

I heard he already is IN for the season. So he must feel confident. either that or he is vying for that bigger money contract.
 
conner dedicated hard to beefing up his body, if healthy he should be able to take a full yr of pounding, ig so you have a faster micheal turner/Cadillac Williams and one that is a great option out of the backfield
 
Need depth this year more than ever. And Jaylen Samuels is trash. I'll take Smallwood over him. I'm fine to go in with Conner, Snell, McFarland, and Smallwood..
