The Steelers signed three offensive linemen Monday, with tackles Joseph Cheek and Larson Graham and center Parker Collins all getting one-year deals.

Cheek, who started two seasons at guard at Texas A&M, originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2016. The Saints waived him before the start of the season, and the Texans signed Cheek to their practice squad. He spent a month there before Houston waived him and Kansas City signed him to its practice squad, where he spent the rest of 2016 and all of 2017.

The Falcons signed Graham early in training camp last season. They waived the former Duquesne right tackle before the start of the season.

Collins signed with the Jaguars after the 2017 draft as an undrafted rookie free agent. Jacksonville cut him before training camp. The Rams signed him for training camp but waived him out of the preseason.

Hubbard is gone let us throw three against the wall and see if one sticks.

I'm right there with yaz on that. Hubbard was a greaT LOSS OF DEPTH. Put these three in with Munch and lets see what he can do with em. If one sticks all the better.

Salute the nation

Camp fodder. The line is pretty well set but they still need to fill those reps on the hot sweaty days at Latrobe. It's a payin' job and who knows...maybe one slips into a PS slot.

Or one slips on the roster. If they don't draft a G or a C or a T, perhaps one surprises. I never say never, as it has happened before that a udfa or a 1st year player bounces on to a roster. Munch has a eye, if there he thinks he can mold one...

Filling the camp spots now. I’d gather these guys actually have a shot (albeit still small) to make the team or PS. Looking who the Steelers are talking to in the draft I’m guessing they draft a 7th or just fill the roster with UDFA’s. But with injuries and the loss of Hubbard backups might be needed.

I don't believe they are that broken up over Hubbard. He was an up and comer fur shur but we couldn't afford him right at this time. They had to have had enough faith that Finney, Feller and Hawkins could carry the load..

In the age of a salary cap, you can not keep everyone.

I got to meet/talk with Parker Collins at the airport on Monday afternoon just after he signed. Seems like a nice kid...don't know how well he'll play...but he was pretty chill..

Even with these additions, I'd be very surprised if we didn't draft an interior lineman on day 3

Or before....I have thought that Foster was on borrowed time for the last couple years but he just keeps truckin' along. A good C/G would be high on my day 2 list.

Our entire line is over 30/pushing 30. It would be malpractice not to go after someone relatively early in the draft if you can project them as a starter somewhere within a season on the line. They could justify taking a right guard/tackle type in the first if it came down to it.

I’d rather pick a tackle on day 3.

We are all set at Interior Finney. He’s very good, starting material. Teams can find a free agent guard to start for a low cap amount. It’s not that way at tackle.

But behind big Al and Gilbert we’ve got an unproven Hawkins. Tackle to me is the greater need.

These three guys weren't used right, wherever the **** they were before. And, they'll look good in black and gold until training camp ends.
