Steelers showing interest in Karlos Williams

Cheech and Chong revisted

It seems like the Steeler running back position has a question that must be answered.

Questionaire:

Do you smoke Pot?

Yes

No

If you answered no, please explain.

They should be thinking DB not RB.

that was very funny, now if you could teach POP what humor is

I thought he was suspended for DUI (was it weed related)?

Jonathan Williams was busted for a DUI, not Karlos

Nobody knows what Karlos was doing.......they just said substance abuse...coulda been anything

I'm not convinced Bell can pass his next NFL drug test. This would be insurance.

based on what? the fact that he MISSED a drug test and that is what he suspended for? You do know he has passed every single test since the arrest correct? You think the one he missed was the only one they gave him?

I like Karlos Williams but there's no space for him on the roster. If the FO is going to use cap money it should better be in a real position of need

go back to the old way of drafting dig into players deaper back to high school, that way we can flagg out weed users much earlier

Sure

Not only did Bell fail a drug test he lied and changed his story. He's lost the benefit of the doubt.

Bell did not fail a drug test.. Had he failed one they would not have lowered his suspension... He failed to give an updated phone number to the testing body of the nfl, thus he did not meet their deadline with taking a random test... He would have still had to have taken said test, but it counts as if he failed so people dont try to wait till something is out of their system... That scenerio lines up with all of his statements... He didnt fail it, he did take it... It just wasnt within the framework of the program...

So, not only is he suspended for failing a test, his *** was fat as Hell and out of shape when they cut him? WTF is wrong with you people who even want them to consider it? This team is losing impact players left and right to failed (yes, missing a ******* test means you failed it) drug tests. By all means, let's bring in more fucktards. Sometimes I think we need to random drug test the membership of this place.

because he can't get back in shape?

Perhaps his brother Vince Williams could help him do just that.

I guess fans must be on drugs if they desire depth.

I'd say he'd be a long term backup and/or safety net if Bell doesn't get his act together, but not like he's doing well in that area either. Having his brother in the locker room could be positive influence, and as far as him being overweight, no one better to workout with then Harrison, Brown, his own brother, and even Bell who lost the weight the Steelers asked him to. Could be the Bell and Blount combo we were looking for previously. This showed last year he is talented, all about getting him in the right direction, and having his brother could do that.

So you are hedging your bets by potentially backing up one back who can't get off the weed by another who apparently has the same problem? Or was his PED in nature? Even if so, still maybe not the best idea either way.

Here they put out a tray of donuts in front of him while tying him to a tractor trailer truck.

Former Bills running back Karlos Williams visits with Steelers

Former Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams is wrapping up a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to multiple sources.

Williams' visit with the Steelers started on Saturday and was coming to an end this afternoon. Karlos Williams' brother, Vince Williams, plays for Pittsburgh.

Williams had a terrific rookie season with the Bills, piling up 600 total yards and nine touchdowns. But during the offseason, he missed all of the team's voluntary workouts, reported to mandatory minicamp overweight and was suspended for the first four games of 2016 for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Bills general manager Doug Whaley said that "releasing Karlos Williams was strictly performance based. He came in behind the eight ball and never caught up and there was other guys on the roster that moved ahead of him. So in light of that, we thought, why hold on to him? Why don't we give him a chance to maybe find another job out there in the league? We weren't going to hold onto him until then knowing he wasn't going to make the team."

Tomlin has a month to whip him into shape

Le'Veon Bell, DeAngelo Williams and Karlos Williams on the same team.

I don't think you can do better than that at RB

Every ex player i see interviewed says roughly 80% of the league actively uses pot... Its unavoidable having players who use on your team... The millenial approach to pot is far more accepting than any past generation.. To them its just not a big deal

Might this be more of an issue with Nix and his back injury? Maybe going to the I.R.??

2016 (0-0): Inactive due to a back injury for the first four games...inactive 10/9 vs. N.Y. Jets.

I'd think that too, but Nix has been practicing for the past 3 weeks. He was a full participant all last week, so I expect him to play this week with another week of full participation.
