A fool and his money are soon parted. He has money, somewhere someone is trying to figure out how to get it.

MATURITY,.................................needs to be acquired

maybe we can trade him and Bell to Cleveland for their last 7th round pick?

Colbert needs to confiscate everyone's iPhone and give them flip phones from 2001.

A recording of the video quotes Davis as saying “Chick-fil-A got little kids. This kid like eight years old. No wonder the lines be so long at Chick-fil-A,” which was accompanied by “an emoji of a face laughing until tears were flowing out of its eyes, representing how funny looking he thought minor-plaintiff was,” per the complaint.

Usually the laughing emoji is used to show you are laughing. So he was laughing at his post.. i dont see anything malicious here. But im not the kid and we will see where this goes

First off, he needs to go back to the second grade and learn proper grammar.

Secondly, his lawyer needs to crush this ****** and when he wins, go after the family for the court costs.

Andrew Leger, an attorney representing the family, said that they tried to have the matter settled with the courts involvement and asked Davis to do a public service announcement condemning cyberbullying. Leger claims that offer was rejected. Davis’ agent, Eugene Lee, called it a frivolous lawsuit and said Davis offered to host the boy and two friends at training camp and also invited him to a football camp in Washington D.C. where he would address the cyberbullying issue. That was rejected by the family.

This is obviously a frivolous money grab!

The is the Problem today kids do not know how to defend themselves ,,, mommy and daddy come save the day ... SERIOUSLY ...

I don't see where the family asked for money.
They asked a pseudo-celebrity and athlete to do a PSA regarding bullying.
Davis and his attorney rejected that offer and countered with free tickets to training camp and a football camp for him and a friend.

Maybe the kid isn't a football fan?
Maybe the kid/family want actual punishment rather than someone well-off just throwing money at something to make it go away?
If this was a Raven player at a McDonald's, would you have the same opinion?

Mommy & Daddy want to be friends instead of actual PARENTS to the kids. Can't say no because it might hurt their feelings and "why can't my kid win" syndrone.

This is just another frivolous lawsuit that should be thrown out. Someone is just trying to make a buck and the attorney's probably will.

Article said the family tried to have the matter settled out of court AND perform a PSA. So there was something else being asked besides a PSA.

I don’t condone it, and don’t know all the facts. But then again what happened at the child’s school would seem to be the biggest issue. Subject to bullying in person, seems to be where it escalated. Family taking action there as well?

would the family have gone so crazy if it wasn't Sean Davis, Pittsburgh Steeler and was some unknown person?

This is from a different article I read:

"The family’s lawyer has made the claim that they “tried mightily to have this settled out of court and not even for money”. He says that they wanted Davis to record an anti-bullying/cyberbullying Public Service Announcement, but the player declined because he does not believe that his actions represented bullying, and that doing so would allow others to infer guilt."

So this is not a money thing. Man I wish they would stop doing stupid things on social media. I don't think he meant harm, but it is stupid to do.

His agent should have him go to the kids' school and do a talk on bullying, and have lunch with the kid in the school cafeteria, Would be great PR. Of course this should happen once the court throws out this stupid lawsuit.

I knew when i saw this earlier Coach would make a thread about it

Well you could have made a post on it first:becky:. More distractions to deal with.

Yes, it if were a Raven player at McDonald's, I would have the exact same opinion.
If it were Tom Brady at the gay bar, same opinion.

I just made the logical assumption that they were suing for money. What else would they be suing for? "Judge, I'd like you to force Sean Davis to do this PSA, even though he offered to address cyber-bullying at training camp, even though he did not cyber bully." I'm sure there is some money involved. And like I said, I hope that Davis' attorney counter sues or at least goes after them for attorney fees. This is bullshit and has to stop. We need a PSA about stupid lawsuits.

Or maybe i read the article and didnt consider it thread worthy.

Well Antdrewjosh,

It's all fun and games until Roger Goodell acts, right?

News flash: The NFL has an image problem ( ratings down, millennials not watching the games in the percentages they used to ), and with bullying being a significant issue right these days, the last thing we need is an NFL player mocking some poor teenager on his social media.

So maybe this is more serious than you realize. Has anyone seen the video? I think we can judge for ourselves.

As for Davis, I think he's the BEST safety on the team right now, by default.

If I'm an owner and the video is pretty bad, I want Goodell to act for the financial well being of the game, and punish Davis with the famous conduct detrimental to league clause.

The NFL does not need millionaires mocking the less fortunate. .
