Steelers roster moves thread

Art Stapleton@art_stapleton

Steelers cut former Giants safety Nat Berhe, but I'm told it's expected that he re-signs with Pittsburgh tomorrow.
Since Berhe is vested veteran, Pittsburgh front office doing some maneuvering to get another player on initial 53 prior to putting him on IR with return designation

Looks like Nat Berhe may stick around.

Landry was as good as he was going to get IMO. I like how we went with the more bang for your buck, which turned out to be both Dobbs and Rudolph. Both look to have upside and promise to step in and lead.

I agree with Jones being cut, but surprised they did it. I thought Sutton may get the axe. I thought Bucky Hodges may stick around. He seemed to have some skills and fire.

He was a Qb turned Tight end but struggled with blocking. Great in the passing game as we’ve seen. It sucks to see him cut and I hope he signs with the practice squad.

I’d still take a great blocker in Grimble.

Who's going to IR DR? Grimble?

Good question, maybe Hilton?

In other news, Raiders are releasing Martavis Bryant. Wow. Colbert played them like fools.

wow

That burst has eluded Martavis and now a roster spot, might be time for him to move to Denver and start a tree farm.

WOW! Bryant cut? Colbert gets rid of a headache AND gains a 3rd round pick? THAT... is an epic trade.

What a self-induced waste of talent and a lot of hard work to get into the pros. Sad

Okay, I’ve had a night to digest the cuts and the one that doesn’t settle well with me, at this point, is the cut of Keion Adams. Wasn’t he better than Dirty Red and Chickillo? Plus, he seemed to be good on pursuit and played better than Matakevich on run defense. Did I miss something?

Did you see him making splash plays or was it more what Ola was doing?

Not that I am a Chickillo fan. Dirty Red is a special teams guy and doesn't really factor in when deciding on who to keep at OLBer.

I hope Adam's gets on the practice squad. I think he has more to give than Red, but Red has the upper hand with experience.

Slash is right. Red and Adams play different positions. With Ola playing so well, he had to make the roster. The decision was keep Chick or Adams. Chick knows the offense a bit better and is better in pass defense. Adams was the better pass rusher.

The big thing to remember, is since Adams was out all year on IR last year, he is PS eligible, and will be signed if he clears waivers. I think Chick had a higher percentage chance of being picked up elsewhere, if he was let go. Adams is an unknown with a season long injury as his only NFL experience. I understand the move to try and retain both players.

Ola was absolutely a roster spot. He played like a beast or a beast in the making. I just thought Adams looked better than Chick and was definitely better in pursuit. That’s all. I did not see any splash plays from either really.
