Newly drafted Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end, Isaiahh Loudermilk is already starting to get used to life in a big city. Born and raised in Howard, Kansas, Loudermilk is not used to large and industrious cities. Coming from a town of only 602 people as of 2019, the star defensive player is in for a culture shock as he comes to Pittsburgh.
After spending four years with Wisconsin Football, Loudermilk decided it was time to go to the next level and attempt to begin a pro career in the NFL. With such a big change from growing up in a small town to a larger college town, to a full-blown city with hundreds of thousands of people, it’s not only exciting, but a great learning experience.
It’s always difficult to move from a small town to a huge city where you don’t know what to do at first. You’re always used to going to the same diner, restaurant, barbershop, etc., and it is a huge culture shock to move to a new place like Pittsburgh that has a whole lot of options for just about anything.
Even in my own experience, I come from a small town in Connecticut with a population less than 8,000 people and even for me, it was a surreal experience to move to Pittsburgh. Hopefully, Loudermilk will be able to adjust to this city and ultimately find himself a new home as he will most likely be here for years to come.
