Steelers reveal their defensive gameplan for Pats

If Tomlin is not anticipating them trying to completely take Brown out of the game, he is crazy. Bill B. Is gonna make Wheaton, and Miller beat him.

AND...Ron, one of those four is nearing 70...................or 40...........

AND....according to Coach Porter he's only supposed to play 25 snaps a game. I'm betting after a game or two he ends up averaging 35.

I dunno, one positive thing I see is that their defense isn't very good either.

If I could take off my black n gold vision... Steelers don't stand a chance given the circumstances. I look at how we were minus Leveon Bell in a home playoff game against the Ravens and couldn't pull out the win. Now with no Bell, Bryant, & Pouncey, I'm just hoping we don't get embarrassed on national TV. This is going to be the highest rated game in NFL history and I want our team looking like contenders. So heres hoping that James Harrison meets Gronk on a shallow crossing route!

Bell, Bryant, and Pouncey all play offense. Missing them won't keep us from being embarrassed on national TV.

Let's hope the D plan is better than we have seen. Per Butler, they have only shown a portion of the defense in the pre-season games. Time will tell.

And it won't matter because every team we have faced for the last two years has game planned to do that very thing, and yet Brown has the longest streak (still going) of at least 5 rec 50 yds in every game the last two years, now he is on a streak of 7 rec 70 yds a game (don't know how many games he's at) showing even further how much teams, cbs, defenses cannot stop AB. Belicheat can game plan all he wants, but that's different from actually stopping AB who has shown for two straight seasons that no team has been able to do so.

If you arent used to getting embarrassed on national TV yet, you must be in your 20s. Some of our best debacles are documented on Monday/Thursday/Sunday football.

Still remember Cowher wanting to clock that punt returner for Jacksonville. Our '07 mnf game against the Ravens was amazing. Thursday nights we aren't to great on

we added coats at 6"1 210 and who ran a smooth 4.4 he will be hard match up when they go dime, to try to find someone who who can stay stride for stride with him.

Don't be surprised if they don't even dress Coates . . .

and then we have the reverse of smack talk....Ben and Belichick take turns buttering each other up

Belichick On Roethlisberger’s Comments: ‘Sounds Like Ben Buttering Us Up’

BOSTON (CBS) — Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had some nice things to say about the New England defensive line on Sunday, but Bill Belichick isn’t really buying it.

Asked about the Patriots’ depth on the defensive front on a conference call with the New England media, Roethlisberger complimented the “high motor” each player possesses and praised Belichick’s many different schemes.

“They keep guys fresh. They keep guys with high motors. They can be complicated at times, their defense and the front seven. They can also be very plain and basic. But even when they are plain and basic and just rush four guys, their motors never stop,” said Roethlisberger. “I think that’s probably one of the reasons why Coach Belichick kept 11 because he is going to want fresh guys in there at all times. That’s something that we’ve noticed and we are going to have to try to be prepared for.

“We are just going to keep looking at different things and try to find some tendencies. I know we won’t be able to find too many because of the genius that Coach Belichick is, but we will try to make some in-game adjustments as well,” he said.

Made aware of Big Ben’s comments on Monday, Belichick couldn’t help but break a bit of a smile.

“That sounds like Ben buttering us up pretty good, you know,” said Belichick. “Half these guys have never played against him – but that’s very complimentary of Ben to say that. We’ll see; we’ll see. I mean, look, it’s the opening game of the year, it’s Thursday night, I’d like to think everybody’s motor will be running, but maybe not. We’ll see.”

A few questions later, Belichick used his own opportunity to “butter up” Roethlisberger when asked about the quarterback’s ability to keep plays alive.

“I’d say he’s as good as anybody. There are other players that are maybe faster than he is, but he’s very hard to tackle, very difficult to get down. On top of that, he’s got great vision, very good accuracy down the field,” Belichick said. “Again, he doesn’t have to step into the throw or have a clean pocket. He can make throws with guys hanging all over him, falling down, so he’s as good as anybody we play at that.”

Translation: Manning and Brady would have been done years ago if they ever had to play behind Ben's lines. Thats my translation.

Good thing we revealed our game plan for the Pats game.

This way, they don't have to steal it...

So, our game plan was to put our smallest db on gronk most the game (Blake) or just forget he's there all together? I could drawn up a sand-lot defense that would have been more effective than that BS we saw last night.

There is no excuse for not covering Gronk. Someone should be assigned to him 100% of the time with help from others. I would have put Shazier on Gronk then have someone help him. I do not understand their thinking. We had trouble with TEs last year. You think they would learn at some point or at least try something different...

I doubt you could have helped

They tried a safety two LB's and a CB and none of could stop him, let alone tackle him.

No scheme makes up for a lack of talent in the secondary.

My thoughts exactly. This defense has had trouble with TE's in the past. Why has no coach seen this on film and make adjustments?

I was at work, but from the highlights I saw our plan was to just say **** it and leave Gronk open all night with no coverage. They certainly followed that plan to a T.

FIFYinz

or for playing Blake out of position
