I thought for sure I would check this board and see some mention of this. Along with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I wonder what the thought process is. Does Dunbar, the new DL Coach see something he thinks he can work with? Insurance in case they don't find a bottom feeder DL in the draft?

I'm a Vols fan and have been hoping this guy would come around (figured he just needed to flip the switch to be a John Henderson type), but ... damn! thus far, he's been a waste.

Link says it will be the same type contract that Croissant got. Minimum. Easy cut.

meh

If the contract said anything other then we will feed you at training camp they overpaid. It still frosts me thay Tomlin let things deteriorate with Harrison when the only needed moves were to cut Dan late and give Deebo a hat instead of Moates. Moates is a nice fellow but his career with the Steelers was totally unremarkable.

I'm surprised. I figured they'd let him take his wares elsewhere.

Why not resign for camp and then move on. No harm no foul. Especially with a new DL coach.

Camp Body only as I'll be very surprised he makes 53. We need a BONAFIDE nose tackle and not one that gets pushed all over.
When Big Dan first came to the STEELERS I thought he would turn the corner and amount to maybe a rare find. Hell, he was colapsing
the pocket and actually looked promising.............then what happened?????? Don't give any of that ****,...."well he knows the system"
**** that, what do you need to know, right hand / left hand/ push ******* pile.

Salute the nation

Hopefully he gets along better with this new do coach Mitchell wanted him to play de as well as by and at 6”6 340 he would of had to shed 15 lbs just stick him at by and rotate him with hargrave Who must put on solid 15 lbs to prevent getting pushed around like he did in the first 3 droves of the afcsg, with this move I doubt they go for ant where I wanted rnd 3 like settle unless he falls then trade both 5ths they need a Hampton/vilfork type guy in the middle to stick to the 3-4.

The contract will say a lot. If it’s a 1 year min deal he’s just getting invited to camp and has to show something.

Doesn't make sense to me either.

Perhaps the team wants to stop the run? It would help with him on the field.

I think people see huge in football and think good. He is too tall and plays with no leverage.

yeah...
John Henderson
Albert Haynesworth
Stephon Tuitt
Cam Heyward
JJ Watt

I can go on, but those guys are all in the same height range that Big Dan is. The knock on McCullers has always been that he's not aggressive (enough). He needs a fire lit under his ***. It hasn't happened.
